  1. If you google about on-line casinos in canada, you'll notice the Canadian government has finally realized that they are losing billions to on-line gambling and are trying to regulate this even more. They are doing this by not allowing credit cards to insure losses due to gambling sites like fraudulent uses. So this is why more and more credit cards are refusing to allow gambling sites. Also, I don't disagree with Canada trying to regulate since they say that Canadians are losing large amounts of cash to foreign casinos and not receiving tax dollars but have to pay for those addictions though their medicare systems. They only have a few on-line accepted casinos in Canada, one which is a Mohawk on-line casino and only reason they are not stopped is because they don't want another confrontation with them. As for depositing for Canadians, I use Instadebit or idebit, which of course restricts many casinos as many don't offer this type of payment but is of course the safest method without giving these casinos your personal credit information. You will also notice, more and more casinos have stopped software companies in restrictions to Canadian players. Ie: netent, and now recently, Elk Studios and many more which unfortunately has limited all the best games I was winning on. I played mostly on Videoslots and now the only games available I am losing more and more. Sad. Even if you are allowed to deposit with a credit card, you have to check to make sure you can withdraw bck to that credit card cause most are not accepting it either. So, again, your best bet is to search those casinos that accept Instadebit or Idebit since they cannot refuse your withdrawals either but like I said this limits us to the best casinos ike Bettson who recently won the best casino on Ask Gamblers. Cheers.
  2. I'm surprised to have received an email just yesterday on this topic and I see it's been started way back in 2012. But oh well, I read through it all and I have to say, this s great information and so true as well. Great job again Val... I also had a few issues with withdrawals. So much so that after reading all the issues or complaints, people wonder why we even trust on-line gambling as there really sin't much we gamblers can do if a casino refuses to pay. At least lawfully. Reason why they are all certified in remote areas. That alone is a scary thought. I have also recently run across some high end casinos that are favoured on Ask Gamblers as well that refused me to ensure they had all verification needed before I registered as I asked why my documents were pending for so long and their response was there was no need to get verified "until I tried to withdraw". Hmmm, that was a red flag because I don't want to even register in any casinos unless all withdrawal verification is completed. I also do not like the "God" clauses as they are the scariest clauses that allow any casino to simply refuse payment for their own reason without any recourse from the client. Then again, having said that, because there is so little we can do to legally fight casinos any one of them, without that clause, can do the same. Canada is restricted on some casinos and is getting worse but the reason for this is because I have read that there were too many complaints from gamblers that these on-line casinos were scamming and not paying to the decision of Canadian regulations, of course after also realizing that billions of dollars were lost in tax revenues, that Canada now will regulate players who play on-line by way of allowing only those casinos that protect players according to Canadian regulations. Now without going off topic, I am actually happy Canada will be monitoring this as it will give players more recourse against casinos and more establishments in Canada will be allowed to create on-line casinos where there would be legal recourse. Nonetheless, ValDez, great job and the stuff you write is super informative and no doubt helps so many beginners out there so always a pleasure to read your comments. Sincerely, Honestdude.
  3. Hmmm, can't seem to find the xmas icons but oh well,,, MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE WHOLE ASK GAMBLERS STAFF !!!!
  4. Actually, I just read this reply, lol. Months ago so to respond, yep, gameart is back and that's great but they, (Videoslots), removed Elk and quite a few more software providers stating that they are restricted in canada but I constantly play Elk software games in Bob Casino and others so I don't get it. BTW - How, for the next time, do I make sure I see responses or comments on my posts ? lol nice to hear from you coco...
  5. I have been playing on-line casinos for about 3 years now, (Gawd, time flies and money disappears.) What I have had people ask about the dangers of on-line casinos is "How do you know these casinos don't control your winnings and losses given they know everything about you including your IP address" vs Brick and Mortar Casinos who don't know you. ? Hmmm, true. Another question : "If on-line are governed by gaming commissions on remote islands and not in our own countries, (Other than the UK Gambling Commission), how safe is it to say that our issues become pretty much useless when we have zero recourse ? I do know that Ask Gamblers help out players but should the casino simply decide to not pay-out, I read that there is really nothing anyone can do about it. You can't sue them without exorbitant fees in a foreign country/Island and writing to the gaming commissions in Malta, Gibralter or anywhere on those remote areas will help anyone in any way. I found those to be good questions and after searching I found that no answers, other than "they are monitored by gaming commissions and/or "play at recognized casinos monitored by the UK Gambling Commission:, (which I found more credible than those governed by these offshore islands. I mean, after all, why would any reputable establishment open on some far away Island unless they cannot be touched by larger government entities ? I have watched TV programs like 60 minutes, Fifth Estate, Prime Time, Market Place and others that basically caution against on-line casinos due to the vague re-courses players have against these gambling sites. Basically, there is a reason why some countries are restricted from many sites and seems like the USA is a large restriction for many. Would Anyone, including Ask Gamblers, have insight or knowledge on these questions ? Someone once told me that Thank-you Honestdude.

  7. lol, tight team you have there Sharon. Good on you. Seeeeee, you filled Jelena's shoes just fine. :}
  8. I got it once I read through the original posts. I see your point. I realize I was not directly involved in the original discussed matter but when reading the reply, without knowing the background, I found the response sounded a little harsh since it is what most readers will read not knowing the background. Sorry for referring to you as a moderator as well. Was not meant to be-little in any way. Your posts are well written.
  9. I haven't seen any forums talking about Gaming Commissions so I thought I would start one. I find when complaints arise and gamblers need to go to gaming commissions they don't know where to go. I found an interesting Government Site that talks about some country's gaming commissions who award licenses to easily and those that actually respond to complaints. Here's a link to that site and although the link goes to Curacao Gaming Commission, you can browse all of them which would give you an insight on the reasons some casinos go to these countries which in effect have rulings whereby gamblers have or have no recourse. You will notice that many casinos belong to gaming commissions in Caribbean jurisdictions and there's a reason to this. Basically, they are protected with rulings whereby they can have clauses that they can close your accounts without any reason. Check it out.. https://www.legalgamblingandthelaw.com/worldwide-gambling-licensing-authorities Winner of the worst is .... https://www.legalgamblingandthelaw.com/worldwide-gambling-licensing-authorities/government-curacao
  10. LOL, that will never happen.. Rich form slots ?
  11. Good one,, so true.. btw - I wasn't aware o this but I found this link on Government Gambling Commisions and while I was searching for who Video SLots belonged to. lol. The issue with most on-line casinos is who they are licensed with and apparently the Curacao commission is one of the worst. The unfortunate part of On-line gaming is there is zero protection when complaining to some commissions. Sad... :{
  12. What was that about ? I found him to be honest and was obviously being straight forward towards his experience in gambling. I have to say I kind of agree with the pattern he's noticed and am sure many have as well. I still can't see the "accusations" nor the "demands" or even worse, the "blackmail". I"m dumbstruck by your comment especially from a moderator. Can you elaborate on the above ? I just don't see a reason to basically tell a member, "don't let the door hit you in the rear on the way out.".
  13. Wow, I read this blog and i don't agree with the don't gamble without a bonus. I always try to not use a bonus cause with any wagering requirements it is always way to difficult to reach any cashable winnings. That's my own experience. You seem to contradict yourself. oh well, I guess you're entitled to your opinion so I posted mine. :} BTW - I agree with one comment on if you have loads of money, why bother with any Bonuses ? lol.
  14. I have been playing many on-line casinos for just over a year. I have played in brick & mortar casinos for over 20 years. This forum/blog is simply a blog to compare brick & mortar casinos to on-line casinos. Actual winnings in the long term, (unless you were lucky to win a jackpot at some time), but your actual experience of playing on-line vs brick & mortar. Have you found a difference ? Less or more wins ? Small or larger pay-outs ? Bottom line feel of on-line ? Do you feel more scams in either? Etc, etc... The actual reason I started this blog, (unless one already existed), is to compare your actual gut feel and experience of playing on-line casinos vs playing in brick & mortar casinos. I personally feel, after years of experience in playing in brick& mortar casinos and keeping track of my losses for both, that I have less and smaller wins overall in on-line casinos vs brick & mortar. When I play in brick & mortar casinos, at least wins, (playing the same denominations in both type of casinos), are larger and more frequent. This is not to say that I am ahead in brick & mortar casinos but I can tell you that at the rate of losing in on-line casinos vs brick & mortar casinos, I would be way way behind with on-line casinos. The issue I find with on-line casinos is they are popping up everywhere, some good, some bad, some honest and some "certified" but in the total picture, Can they be trusted ? You would figure that since on-line casinos have way less expenses, you should be getting larger pay-outs, winnings more often but I don't find that to be the case. With licenses from foreign countries, where on-line casinos can get licenses to operate so easily and for less than $500 there are absolutely no "real" check and balances in those country's so called gaming commissions. No place to go if you encounter a problem. The only place to ensure some help, investigate or check up on casinos are places like Ask Gamblers. Again, so what are your personal opinions if you have had experiences in both type of casinos ? Do you feel your chances and wins are less and less often with On-line casinos vs brick & mortar ? Thank-you
  15. Awena, I never did hear back from the Tribune :{
  16. Okay ValDes, I'll clarify a few items. First off, I "NEVER" called the game nor casino "FAKE". I simply stating my opinion on how the odds in Blackjack usually run from years of experience so it was my opinion" that they they were way off the norm. Is it "fair" that I put this under the casino name, (probably not given the point you made about it being the provider). BUT, aren't the providers chosen by the casinos ? So do we play in an area provided by the "provider" or are we playing in the casino, who chooses their provider? ". Furthermore, I have read many posts whereby "us" gamblers have benefited from "opinions" where many others felt the same. SO I apologize for violating the extensive list of posting guidelines, but I"m sure many post, without having to read the guidelines all the time. Ask Gamblers is a great site and I have not commented against the fairness of the entity. I find Ask Gamblers beneficial to all as gamblers are allowed to post their "opinions". As for some mediators who feel they can indirectly metaphorically decimate a user's user name starting a response with "Let's be honest", Honestdude" is not in any way beneficial to anyone as most would read into it as a pompous remark anyhow. Enough said.
  17. Hi Awena, not sure if they have "fake" games, was just commenting on how I realized how bad their black-Jack game was when you play and the dealer seems to pull unbelievable cards when ordinarily this type of pull can occur sometimes but not that often. I wrote a post on Omni casino but I see it was pulled this morning for whatever reason. I was just simply stating my observations but I guess Ask Gamblers doesn't like when gamblers speak negatively about their "trusted" sites. lol
  18. Good for you buddy ! I had quit on-line gaming for awhile and tried it again today. Now I know why I quit, lol Played on Omni casino and to bee honest, I played blackjack, just to see how fake or how fixed it was cause when you play often and know how the odds of a balckjack game is, you can more or less tell how far off the odds are but not on any slot machines. When the odds are way against the house on a certain hand and you should "ordinarily" win when you play correctly and you constantly lose against ridiculous odds on that hand against the house and they pull a win on a ridiculous hand then that told me immediately that all the rest is rigged and for that reason, I'm out. I haven't quit smoking yet, that's a tough one but congrats to you !!!!
  19. I have been playing on-line casinos now for a little over a year. My topic focuses on player's experiences since I'm pretty sure most on-line gamblers were playing in brick & mortar casinos or VLT;s before the rapid spread of on-line casinos came about. I would just like to hear from players if their experience from both differ. My personal experience is that the brick&mortar casinos or VLT's actually seem to pay more often in the sense that when you spin, although this could take awhile, the wins at the same betting average of approximately $1.25 all the way to $3.75 a spin in bick & mortar casinos pay out more often than on-line casinos. Example, I will walk into a casino and I know that throughout my hours of playing I at least cash a few winning tickets, sometimes large like $900 and up way more often than I ever did since I've played on-line casinos. What's your experience in the time you have played in on-line casinos ? Better or Worst = On-Line or Brick & Mortar ?
  20. Correct, here in Alberta we have 11 brick and mortar casinos and are legal. They are privately owned 50% by the owner and also owned by the government. The regulations and laws differ by province and each province has a gambling commision. On-line gambling in Quebec is now legal and the Mohawk reservation already has a few on-line casinos.
  21. Let me know how your first withdrawal goes,,,, if it ever occurs...
  22. Yes, I agree and of course they open as fast as they close. So many are popping up that people have more choice so any bad advertising on Ask Gamblers doesn't help any casino.
  23. Now that was a good summary of annoyances. It's true as well, these casinos are popping up like there's no tomorrow all with the same pool of chat people who can't remember who they last served. Why would they, its a money making machine that costs them $500 to $5k for a Malta license, borrowed software, leasing agents to respond to questions and they make millions. Nobody to check regulations but that's about to change soon as governments start realizing how much their brick and mortar casinos start losing.
  24. Ditto for me too. I'm starting to wonder if these on-line casinos really pay back anything and It's been so long for me as well trust me. I'm starting to leave all casino's behind.. Including the brick and mortar ones. Especially the on-line casinos as at least in the brick and mortar I win and lose but on-line casinos, with less expenses should be winning more often but of all the 65 casinos I've played and sunk so much so far, none really pay out much. Too make it worse, when you do finally withdraw, it's always a hassle.
  25. It's May 8th and have yet to hear a response from the Tribune. Nice to meet you too :}
