You take them all with a huge grain of salt, the not getting excited stuff I can understand to some extent given they gamble for years on end. The smart ones build a brand/community like AG etc which becomes self reliant for income via affiliate rev etc in addition to the streamer being paid by the casinos or being given very favourable bonus terms.

I was more of a MTT player than cash, over time lost the patience to play for 6 hours for a 5x my buyin win etc even if I was playing 6+ tables(not a big grinder, 8 tables I had no issues with)

Staying away from super volatile options and betting as low as possible(I don't mind doing 100k spins to clear a wager if theres autospins), I like anything that can spin turbo spins and is <5000x max win to have the bets chance of getting good RTP.

The only one I found was useful to me was a site(forget which) allowed you to set a max bet limit per spin etc so you couldn't accidentally click and do a $20 spin when you loaded a slot the first time. The only downside is it also meant you couldn't bonus buy above that value either.

I don't know the solution, I'll be 100% honest that I saw 3 players doing the same thing and I decided to take the same betsize/bonus many of them had with MYR and signed up. Given the rules I figured its fair game for everyone, I wanted the same chance to win a prize. I continued using MYR in the next comps because I was still wagering my 400% deposit bonus, my bets in the current comps are within 15% of NZD minbet so I'm not going out of my way in those active comps to play cheaper. The only other option is to double the bet which is paying ~70% over NZD minbet. I did PM coco about this asking if there was any issues with my bet size but it appears it went unread.

Like cricket it's relatively easy for the player to pretend to have a poor game and the sportsbooks allows people to bet on very specific actions where the player fixing the outcome can put themselves in control. Spot fixing in cricket happens so often because you can bet on outcomes for specific balls in an over etc.
