Weird, weird session. Got 6 GOLD's in about 400 spins: this was the best rest in and around 50x, worst 12

That Multi was just waiting on a mass of a's or k's

very nice win, that kind of win would be just what I require

still playing the game but there was a spin on 80c stake that had 117,649 ways and I needed a diamond on reel 1 to drop in to connect the other diamonds to make 8 ways of 5OAK diamonds. would have paid 200xBet base game = 160e...

@pinnit2015

just had a bonanza feature, 17 spin trigger and it had a retrigger so total of 22 spins and paid a bit of a dissapointing 178.05xBet on a 1e bet......... now down 4.75e for the session after doing about 1875 spins...... what do you say about that. was down at some point by about 183e before the much needed feature came. only 2 features in about 1875 spins....

1st one was 28.95xBet on 80c bet at around the 900 spin mark and then 2nd feature at around the 1875 spins, such huge gaps between features. some base games kept me going but would have liked a 300x+ on the 22 spins feature. but what do say about the 22 spins paying 178.05x Bet (reached a 15x multiplier).. how does that compare to most 22 spin features.

Edit: after the Bonanza session went over to Dazzle Me and did just 10 spins at 80c for a RTP of 467%, that's NetEnt.... last spin paid 25x.  seems to be a pattern, lose on brutal bonanza and win it back on Netent's Dazzle Me or Starburst.

Prior to the Bonanza session I made mistake of donating to a playtech slot when it refused to trigger a feature on Sacred Stones... it took 28e from me in 183 spins (40c stake), RTP 62%, must stop playing playtakes. Although still up on Sacred Stones LTD by about 200e its hard to leave without a feature. but sometimes it takes it's time. (longest its gone is 610 spins and 2nd longest is 368, currently on 192 streak.)

To be honest it’s pretty much in and around it. Had 17 quite a few times less than 50x.Don’t actually think the amount of spins matter, just eye candy. Normally 3 of the last 6 are always dead for me.

you’re just playing for the stacked columns on x7 multi half the time as once u go above that in most cases you’re lucky to be hitting 3 of a kinds

if diamond had landed on reel 1 this would have paid 200x and would have put me up +74e for the bonanza session.

are reel 1 diamonds the rarest of them all. sometimes its reel 2. the most diamonds you can have on reel 6 is four and on reel 1 is two?..

Well, despite your unsuccessful attempts so far, I still believe Bonanza is meant and designed exactly for long playing sessions.  Of course it's all down to the RTP and RNG eventually, but the general philosophy behind Big Time Game slots (and any other mid- to high variance games vendor) is simple - sooner or later it will produce a big win which will compensate for all other losses along the road. If you are persistent enough of course... AND if you could afford the gambling budget needed to support your persistence.

Personally, my faith in BTG ultra mega wins possibilities is still present, but I don't have the time to chase it anymore as it requires tens of thousands of spins, serious gambling budget (even for my 1 dollar bet type) and hundreds if not thousands of hours...

Too much of the RTP on Bonanza is in the base game to throw out wins like Lil Devil.

Want to play a true HV BTG then it’s Lil Devil, DHV, Final Countdown tbf

what about that HV beast Starquest ? I've only done 25 spins on it which resulted in 23 losing spins (22 dead), and 2 small wins (1.8x & 3x) )for a 20% RTP.

Have any of you had mega wins on that? I've seen monsters on youtube so it's capable of insane wins.

If you had to choose to find that mega win which would you choose, Lil Devil, DHV, Final Countdown, Starquest or...... DOA1?

that recent Bonanza session had total of 1857 spins, staked €1,461.80, RTP 99.68%, P/L -€4.75

Feature #1 on spin #901 paid 28.95xBet, €23.16 (12 spins)(this feature took 1301 spins ! if including the previous sessions 400 spins)

Feature #2 on spin #1857 paid 178.05xBet, €178.05 (17 spins + retrigger 5 = 22 spins)(this feature took 956 spins !)

if every spin of the session was @ €1 stake then session result would have been -€66.90, RTP 96.40%

average # of spins to trigger feature YTD is 514 !

average # of spins to trigger feature LTD is 504 !

@pinnit2015 or anyone else that plays it, what's the most number of spins that it took you to get a bonus on bonanza?

my top 3 are 1405, 1301, 956.......

. I've been reading through that megathread the first dozen pages to see how things were back then and someone wrote this 3 years ago........ : 4,800 spins without a bonus. Betsize .60. Losses $800.  Congrats BTG your the guys that officially put me on a break. Just went to all my casinos and blocked deposit options for 30 days.  Also going to put this slot on my never play again list.  Good luck to all those for the rest of the month.  Thats twice in one day where I went 3300 spins without a bonus and now 4.800,  Theres super high variance and there is greedy bullshit. Im gonna go with the second.  And btw the biggest hit I got during these 8100 spins was 34x. Sorry but thats disgusting.

that same person earlier in the day said this about it: I quite enjoy this slot. Its fun for sure.

and another wrote: Couldn't agree with you more. I do love the slot but basically if it is going to bankrupt me f*** that. On my never again list as well. Totally killed my bankroll.

another wrote: I tried it again this morning and 300 pounds gone within minutes at 2 pound a spin.  Difference of day to night. Where a few nights ago it was playing fair it was just not in the mood this morning.

Probably around 2500

Played Casinocasino again just now and got 3 in 100, one on the next pin when i upped -  Next time could be none in 1000 etc. Average is 500 spins for the game seemly so you catch it cold you're looking at north of 1500 on a medium-bad day.

another break? Careful - start calling you johnny.

When I initially first played Bonanza it took me at least 20 SESSIONS of about 100 spins each @ $0.80 USD to finally get the bonus. When I got the bonus, I netted a total eye dropping amount of $25.00. Needless to say I didn't play this slot for quite a while.

I began playing it again a couple months ago and can get really big wins from single round spins, some close to 100x betting at $1.20 a spin. The blasted game still almost refuses to give me free spins always getting close to the point I just end up quitting. If I am lucky enough to get the bonus round, I can only get 80x maximum with a few $25.00 spins thrown in with dead spins. Multiplier gets up to 8 times maximum for me. Normally I'll get the bulk of winnings in the first couple spins and then it goes cold. NEVER, I mean never will it end a bonus round hitting anything.

I remember getting a bonus round like 3 spins into a session once, then immediately getting additional spins on the first spin of the bonus round. After that I barely got $10.00  I didn't play it again for a while.

Two other similar games by Big Time Gaming, Extra Chili and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire have had similar results for me. Although I have had some 200x + wins on both of those. On both of these games, I have gambled to get additional free spins maybe half the time only to lose 90% of the time. That includes on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire having a 85% change of picking the right answer only to have it be wrong.

Frustration does not truly describe how this can make one feel. The only thing I can think of after these situations is a baseball bat and whoever designed these games.

These games play monumentally different on various online casinos but with the same results for me. Free spins or big wins escape me for the most part. As they say, mileage varies widely eh?

Funny enough, I'm a glutton for punishment and I do enjoy the games. (I know I'm an idiot) Lately I've been playing some similar variations of this game design (Megaways) from Blue Print. They have been very kind to me.

I am certain games are designed to tilt/addict players, they have psychologists that are on the design team, no joke.

"Very large gaming companies tend to use psychologists to optimize their profit systems, including lootboxes, pay to win, and generally making a game addictive. This fact has been a major part of the recent lootbox controversies."

"Slot Machine Psychology. It's behavioural psychology 101: the theory of Skinner and operational conditioning. When you get small but repetitive winnings, no matter if they are lower than what you had risked, the brain assumes there's a positive consequence to your behaviour and tends to continue..."

when it comes to Bonanza design the game has been give this math design: about 60% dead spins, about 20% losses disguised as wins, combines for 80% losing spins, about 1.5% equal returns, and 18.5% profitable spins. I found these figures by checking various long sessions and these stats are around the same mark give or take 1%.

meanwhile DOA1 has this: about 65.5% dead spins, 9.5% losses disguised as wins, combines for 75% losing spins, 25% profitable spins.

more on why slots are addictive is found in a video such as this documentary in this thread I made.

https://www.askgamblers.com/forum/topic/9773-kaching-pokie-slot-documentary-why-slots-are-addictive/

and speaking of WWTBAM I had only one bonus on it and it paid just 0.4xBet. Haven't played it since. It took 218 spins to trigger. May give it another chance again. But reading about how you can lose the first gamble I might just take the 8 spins (you can still get big wins on 8 spins). I did gamble it to 12 spins last time.

First of all, I appreciate your rather extensive and constructive input both for myself and those who may read this thread in the future. Well done and I do not doubt the numbers or the countless techniques and variations used to maximize the bottom line.  They really use the old "carrot and stick" routine over and over. Social media uses the same techniques with their notifications constantly dropping hits of dopamine into peoples brains. Slots are no different except there is a real time financial aspect appealing to one's greed.

A quick side note, I have lost the gamble on increasing the free spins around 80% of the time so I don't bother unless I feel really lucky. I've even paid for the feature on Big Chili and lost the gamble, twice in row. Talk about pissed off, lol. One thing I noticed since doing that in one casino is the fact I get a lot of those coins decreasing the value of the "buy" feature. At the same time, they serve as a perfect mechanism for the game to block potential big wins too. Talk about evil, that is just criminal in my opinion.

I most wholehearted agree that all the games are specifically designed to basically hypnotize the "player" (who is being played) whether they know it or not. Much like the mind control mechanisms the television has done to society as a whole in my opinion. To say this is no joke is an understatement. There is mountains of money at stake and you can bet your cotton socks developers hire top psychological professionals along with using a substantial playbook of tricks to deceive and beguile end users.

From the whimsical music and sounds to the color, design and themes, you have a serious cacophony of diversions to use as manipulation.

Again, thanks for the insights and the links. This banter only reaffirms the fact that to be successful at slots you need patience and also a break in the action to access your situation. This helps tremendously making a winning session much more profitable. Cheers!

thought more about this and so going to add that when the player gets put into a trance/zone then the player is being played and under mind control. If you are able to take breaks during a session to break from the trance you would be able to regain control and as you said "you need patience and also a break in the action to assess your situation" so set the rules where for example you do a batch of auto play spins and when the autoplay batch ends take some time a minute or two between at least and NOT immediately start a new batch, walk around, make some tea. Or maybe you like to click for each spin like a skinner box pigeon or rat waiting for the occasional reward. (Some people have been found to wear adult diapers so they wouldn't have to leave their seat and stay playing the slot at the casino). All the sounds and reels spinning all part of the slots design to put you under their mind control. Now the thing is that for some players getting into the zone/trance state is what they desire cause that is where they escape from reality, get relief from any pains and any interruption to that causes annoyance including winning jackpots cause that interrupts their "zone". That is discussed in documentaries about the slot addictions. But in order to have control of the situation taking these breaks and remaining calm is so necessary otherwise the slot has you under it's mind control and that tells the player to keep doing what they are doing and keep feeding the slot no matter how much it has taken off your balance.

Keep calm and continually assess the situation with regular breaks. Is the slot not paying? then move onto another and is the next one also not paying then it's not your day, end the session. Easier said than done.

Try playing a slot with the sound turned off, no more positive re-enforcement sounds used against you for all those losses disguised as wins (LDW). What about the reels as they spin, attempting to hypnotise the player, it's all part of the design, the anticipation of symbols, two scatters and needing the 3rd one to get the bonus etc or max ways on a BTG slot. 117,649 ways wow surely a big win is coming, oops nope nothing connected but sooo close, onto the next spin player as the slot gives the player another sip of tilt juice.

calm = clear judgement/decision making

tilted = clouded judgement/decision making

I never play bonanza on high ish stakes to start with - 40ps and work my way up nearly all the time. If i've a bonus to clear i'm straight in on the 2's but normally 40ps-1quids with straight cash.

Had a few sessions recently at l and l that bucked that trend. Gave it 40ps for 25 spins and then upped cos it felt it was playing OK and luckily they came in the higher stakes
