Pros and Cons of Online Gambling: Difference Between Playing in Online Casinos and Land-based Casinos

Hey guys, soooo - what is your biggest pro and con of online gambling?

Also do you think any others should have been included in the blog? 

For me personally, the two main pros online are convenice and privacy. The nearest land based casino to me is one hour away which is a pain in itself and I couldn't be arsed to get dressed up every time I wanted a spin. Also, I like the privacy of playing at home, I wouldn't want to be surrounded by people potentally watching me!

Exactly my dear...convenience and privacy...the top 2 most important differences...next would be the formal dress code.

Playing my favourite slot games at home, it cannot be any more convenient, it cannot be any more private (nobody need to see me middle finger pointing and using the f word ), and no need to dress up to play (I can play naked if I want to ).

At land based casinos you also have to deal with angry players who create a scene when they lose and some players ask for money constantly (the ones with whom you have only spoken once). Don't know what LB are like where you are but never had any of that, sounds more like a seaside amusement arcade with the local scumbags 

Our LB have quite a calm feel about them, never overly busy unless 10pm-1am really.

Two things about LB casinos in Bulgaria: 

a/ the only 'dress-code' allowed depends on how deep is your pocket, no one and I mean really no one cares about your dress code IF you enter the premise with  enough money, even if you are half naked...or completely naked; 

b/ back in the late 90s, used to 'fund' probably half of my student related cost by playing the LB slot machines, just got 'connected' with one of the girls who was assisting players and was always aware which of the machines was in 'eating mode' and which is ready to 'drop' depending on the programmed 'regime to compensate'... 

All in all, great great days!

I think most of us are very lucky here that we're in control of our gambling habits, but I will admit that if  I was to rewind say 8 years ago, it had consumed my life. It was what I done all day, every day but I do class myself lucky that I was able to reign it in. 

Anyone else been through similar periods on the past?

I think everyone has been through this, such as waking up and thinking of gambling and making money. Hours and hours spent on a chair gambling like a maniac, which all ended in a big headache. 

I have been through this in 2015. But luckily I left with winnings. To be honest I keep track of my deposits and withdrawals every single month. So if I slide down the wrong road I take a break. In the begining, like the first 2-3 days I think about it, but later I find myself doing other things and most importantly communicating with the nice old fashioned way. Don't get me wrong, I mean spending time having fun building stuff with my wife or reading cases. Hehe. Now, when it comes to slots, I can give you an example. I might play 5 out of 7 but next week I might go 2 out of 7. Or even 1 out of 7. It all depends on the mood. And trust me after years of playing, i got bored of them..like really had enough, so the whole excitement has faded. The only excitement I get is my own challenges! For example I say to myself. If I win with a 50 euro slot money, I will order this for the kitchen or snickers etc. Main goal, is to build an all time powerful PC.

Soooo Shannon, I never had you for an individual who would be playing on the hard mode. What changed? Winner or loser? And what about those classes you mentioned ?

Yeah life for me 10 years was very different to what it is now, a very unstable one and I fell into the trap of online gambling. In fact both me and my partner did. Lasted a few years. Was pretty hardcore back then, multiple depositis every day 7 days a week. Never been a high roller only ever deposited £10/£20 at a time but sooner or later it started consuming our lives. 

Then...life started changing for me. Guru introduced me to some amazing opportunities on this site which I will be forever grateful for and I went on to have three more children in a very short amount of time.  My time and more importantly my finances were then all to revolve around my family and my gambling got lesser and lesser. It will always be in my blood, I will always dabble in and out of slots but I don't think ever go back to the way it was. And I'm so much happeier now, don't get me wrong I miss those insane winnings sessions I had but now instead I get to watch all  yours , and help people on this site, which makes me just as happy

yeah people creating a scene like these guys: as far as the asking for money I seen it once an old lady that said she lost all her money was going around asking the players for money, the players were sitting at the slots,  one guy who had won about 800 (through some gambles on those red/black gamble features) he gave her a fiver she said she will send him the money back she asked for his address he said not to worry. then she went and played around a 5cent per spin just to keep getting the dopamine.

But have you asked yourself why the overall quality of the casino industry 'product' seems to go downwards? Ain't all this a direct consequence of the never-ending regulatory changes, all suggested and proclaimed in the name of the player's 'best interests'... Just thinking out loud, you know...
