Why do you think phone manufacturers keep coming up with new models? Not only Apple, but all other smartphone makers are also in the same boat. It's nothing more than a business strategy - to get users to keep buying their products, to keep their company alive.

Once you're hooked to smartphones, and hooked for life, there's no other way to go but to follow the company's lead.

Once you're hooked to smartphones, and hooked for life, there's no other way to go but to follow the company's lead.

some apps won't work with older phones, some older phones that are running older software can't get their operating system updated and thus it doesn't get support, all these ways mobile manufacturers get people to buy new phones. recently found that an older phone with android 4.0 couldn't be used with the google play store cause you couldn't add a google account onto it. google will just not let you sign in with your account. google simple says it's part of their security changes.. but we all know this is about getting users forced into buying new android phones.

now if you don't want to use all the apps on your phone you could still use the phone to make phone calls and sms...

 last year;

If you still have a device running Android 2.3.7 (the final version of Gingerbread) or older, Google won’t let you sign in to your Google account on that device starting September 27th, according to a support document (via Liliputing).

“As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our users safe, Google will no longer allow sign-in on Android devices that run Android 2.3.7 or lower starting September 27, 2021,” the company says. “If you sign into your device after September 27, you may get username or password errors when you try to use Google products and services like Gmail, YouTube, and Maps.”

If you can't log in to Google, say goodbye to the Android Market, Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Talk. The base OS will still work, but you won't be able to do anything people actually did on these phones. You'll never be able to see these apps work on the phones again, barring some kind of crazy login emulation system.
