Oh who is it? I did see an advert on the TV I think the other day...

Haven't seen them on any recent ones but certainly after Verne died they brought back Paris Hilton to be their 'ambassador'. I imagine an ambassador of a casino to be useful a concept as that of a country (unless you need diplomatic immunity)

Oh yeah of course! I'd completely forgotten about these guys. Tbh though who even is Paris Hilton anymore! Is she even famous now ? Used to love her when I was younger, but I guess now she's just the cheapest celebrity they can get to do it!

Remember to apply for your insurance green card in driving outside the UK come April - I live miles away from the N Irish/Irish border when back home so have had to do it when visiting next month as I plan on going south the ways?. Start of a bureaucratic cluster mess. ?

Wish we'd just get the whole thing over and done with - unfortunately what the last few years has highlighted in the UK is the undercurrent of deep seated xenophobia across parts the UK and the horrible, and just my view, rise in nationalism and hard right politics.

Maybe it's because i grew up in a country whereby flag waving, patriotism and drawing dividing lines was part of the norm, that has made me so disdainful against it, I don't know. The skeptic would say it's part of any governments agenda: want control of the masses, rule out dissent?: create a bogeyman and a huge dollop of fear to go with it?

Once and IF we actually leave the EU I hear that abroad is going to be a whole lot more expensive too! Daily fees for staying in Europe? I mean I voted out anyway and I don't tend to leae the country a great deal, I'm a home bird but I think things are about to get complicated. If our governement ever get their butts into gear of course.

Where you travelling Mr P?

Post March, just back home for a week at the start. But heading down to Cork in Ireland for a few days so strictly speaking outside the EU.

I think there’s a real chance they’re going to call a second referendum. In fact if I didn’t known any better I’d think that they’ve been planning this, knowing they couldn’t get a no deal through and May wanted to stay.

Not really proud of it, but Sharon will confirm I kinda predicted most of it long long time ago when we were discussing Brexit... :(

Current prediction - mess, a total one! Some will make serious money out of it, most will lose of course. Same old, same old... ?

Problem is that it was never actually debated both prior to and after the vote. Both sides, brazenly, have fed misinformation to both their respective supporters. The Remain side would have won if their attitude was not so dismissive of those who opposed the EU institutions. Then we had Leave quoting stupid figures of saving 350million a year out of the EU. Mindbogglingly, the remainers didn't even do a good job of refuting this. So what we ended up with was essentially a campaign based on immigration.

I get where the criticism of the EU comes from - from a monetary and trade body to the increased role of political interference over the years. It's not undemocratic but it's hardly the most transparent body.

Who wins? Bureaucrats. And possibly lawyers. There should be a vote of no confidence in every single one of those MP's in Parliament. Good job the Tower of London doesn't do what it used to do or there would be some of them sweating.

1-0 to the Establishment ?

I think if they call a second referendum a lot of people who voted out will have changed their mind and will vote to remain now ?

I imagine it would be to stay....purely due to seeing the negligence, cowardice and arrogance of the political parties.

Most likely won't happen - peoples political careers would be dead and buried. Not that they're looking like they have much integrity as it stands.

My own personal view is that it should never have been called in the first place  but Cameron saw it as a way of tidying up his own party. Plus, he thought it would fail and finally silence the Euroskeptics in the Tory party. That turned out well.

Well we've already lost trade deals so second referendum or not, they've completely messed it up! I personally think we should just leave and be done with it now. Our country will survive because we have to and people will adjust.  Guess we'll have to just wait and see...

The Art of War that it references is a great read.

The world is run by a cabal of powerful people, influencing world affairs and creating the enemy it needs to control the proletariat... probably not far off the truth ?

oh someone get my Freemason badge ?
