As Much as I sometimes feel for UK punters with restrictions imposed in many instances concerning online slotting, I must admit the UKGC for me personally is always on top of things(For most times may I add) compare to other commissions in terms of making sure casinos are doing right by the players as well as fining operators and making sure operators are in line with whatever latest practices have been implemented by the UKGC for operators to adopt.

Not saying the UKGC are the best, but publicly, you never see, hear anything that Malta or Curacao are doing in the same manner in making sure and enforcing operators to following the strict measures and guidelines set out by the commission with the best interest of the public, protecting players and all the other good it does in terms of SR, AML, KYC, etc.

I saw Daub Alderney also hit with a heavy fine (5.85mil pounds) for failing social responsibility and somehow not having the correct, policies, procedures, and controls  in place from an AML perspective, If I am not mistaken they were hit with a 7.1 Mil fine not so long ago?

I guess the above forms part of the reason most probably that lead to Tim now reiterating the importance of SR and AML, with the launch of the new consultation process by the Gambling Commission relating to the thresholds for Financial Risk at the Know Now 2021 conference.

 

This takes me back was it to the discussion we in 2019 or 2020 when the UKGC dished out heavy fines to Casumo, Videoslots and many others all with the same year for the same things...

It's a fine line to walk - and when you do you get some things right, some things wrong. For every ban on reversal, you get a ban on autoplay etc.

Casumo have been fined, and i think re-fined, not because of an over zealous regulator but, you know, because they're useless. Having no MLRO, you may as well invite the GC in, open up the cheque book and go 'how much this time mate?' - school boy incompetence. 

Instant improvement to the UKGC if 1. fill the board up with folk who, you know, actually spin 2. Remove any quasi political figures from the mix (meant to be a non departmental body but they react too much to political pressure 3. Don't know how you do it but they need to add an ombudsman role to their remit - not that 'yeah, we make the regulations but you know, hands off when there's an issue'

The same way that governments, in the main, would prefer to adopt a hands off approach and let folk regulate themselves, casino's need to clean their own kitchen. From taking the P""s, to operating with little impunity, they helped in part to create the conditions in a lot of cases for increased intervention - don't get me wrong, like in Aussie land the tightening up and locking down was driven purely by them not liking a decrease in revenues etc but yeah, quit it with the wild west mr casino. 

Could be worse - could be Germany - boy, what's going on there re casinos is mental with their 1 euro capped spins, wtf. 

Maybe better vetting on the licencees would help - how 888 have one i do not know.

Dude the Casumo part is killing me, sounds exactly how they do it and just shows some of these operators are rolling in the $...

Re: UKGC reacting to political pressure, I was unaware of that to be honest and I agree with point number 3...

Did Germany go ahead with the implementation? I remember reading about the possibility of them facing 1 euro cap on betting in January, but never followed up again TBH. Here I though placing those 2 cap on UK was bad...

It's DEAD QUIET here in the forum since yesterday, with very little activity since the past few days.

I'm keeping away from all European casinos still, so I'm busy watching movies and playing Red Alert. I guess some of you would be busy writing reviews during this quiet period...not me though...most probably no reviews from me for yet one more month. 

Question is...is there anybody out there???!!!

Hi there @Afi4wins. I come here almost everyday  but no posting activity. Just try to post if someone  needs help or guidance. But will be active from next month.

I actually  had high fever and cough in mid September  and I confused it with Corona but thankfully it wasn't. Those 6 days sucked a lot out of me. That fear of Covid gave me a lot of anxiety as well.

Everybody  out there please take care of yourself. Put on a mask, drink a lot of warm water, sanitize regularly and get vaccinated. God bless you all.
