Is $20 enough to bring to the casino?

Recommended Posts

I have been going to the casino a few times these last months (around 3 time per month) I only take $20 and maybe a bit more just to play slot machines while the $20 I use it for actual games such as roulette or blackjack. At the beginning I used to lose a lot then I got lucky a few times with a few dollars that I made into $47 and another time to $59. But recently I have only won $30 in one roulette spin but after that I have lost most of the time. I play roulette 99% of the time because slots has become unfruitful and I watch my money very carefully while doing only corner bets in the roulette table (only using 6 chips of  One dollar each). I need advice in what to do or if $20 is too little but keep in mind it is very hard for me to bring more than $20 for personal reasons. I could use any advice or roulette strategy to make the most or recommendations of other games that I will win a lot.

Thank you

I'm assuming you mean a land-based casino? We're mainly online at the forum but we do have some members who have land-base experience, maybe they can offer you some advice?

Nothing to do with the post here...but Trump is asking this???

Oh geees...that's one picture/avatar I wish not to see often...not at all even...but you can't ever keep 'him' quiet, can you? Hahaha.  :D

Anyway, no offense meant to you CapitalismKing...I was merely commenting on your avatar.  :p

As for your $20 issue, make the best of what you can afford...never bring more if you can't afford it!

Same principle applies for both land-based and online casinos!

If I can only play with $20 at a time...that's how I am nowadays anyway...I would spend it wisely, and only on a game that I know can give me some winning chances. Only if I can spare some extra $20 or more, then I would play on new games or other games, because 'unfamiliar' games are highly unpredictable and chances are you'd lose your money soon enough!  :p

A good strategy on Roulette?

That's like asking for a good strategy on flipping a coin! :p

What looks like a simple 50-50 chance of winning or losing, can certainly work in impossible ways and with ridiculous results too - like getting the 'head' 10 times in a row with that coin flip! Sounds impossible to happen, but it does!

Same with Roulette too! If you think it cannot be Red or Black all the time, or for more than a few times, stick around the table and see for yourself - there'd be times when it goes Red many times in a row, or Black many times in a row, so the chances of winning are NEVER 50-50!!!  :p

Personally I wouldn't go into Roulette with just a 20 - consider some tables are minimum 1 euro/pound etc, it'll be gone in no time.

I used to play more table games than i used to - quite frankly slots have ruined it for me - Eg. other day put a pound on a game got 1000 times my bet back (yes, i know, it's not likely every session). Then when you go to the tables you have a probability of just under 50%  of betting red/black, odd/even all for basically x2.

I still tend to play them when i'm up on slots and they can yield some nice returns - i normally skim 10% off my withdrawals and head to roulette/blackjack. But they're more of a bonus - i've never woke up thinking 'what a great session'. I have with slots.

Afi's right - the odds aren't 50-50, but under.

Off-the-topic...but I read the earlier Trump-Kim meetups and giggled!  :D

I cannot ever imagine Trump threatening Kim - one may take it as a joke, the other might just press the red button!  :p

Hello there and welcome to AskGamblers.

Regardless the fact whether we talk about land-based or online casinos, whenever luck is involved money doesn't really matter that much. Meaning you could hit a huge jackpot with your first coin or lose thousands in a matter of hours because of your luck... :)

Still, you'd better pay your casino visits with a minimum gambling budget and pray your luck is in a good shape instead of wasting thousands to check that. ;)

Good Luck! :good:

I used the minimum at all times, even when I can afford to spend more. So I think $20 is enough, I sometimes even try to find ones with 10 or 15 euro minimum these days lol.

Luck is all you need, like Valdes said, you could hit the jackpot with a single coin. 1 million bucks will never be sufficent if your luck is 0%. There are few casinos with a small minimum deposit of 5 dollars like Trada casino.

Is $ 20 enough to bring to the casino? - you know guys, almost everyone worries about this question! And many want to be successful.

In my years of gambling I only ever deposited £20 or less at a time but as Fiekie said it would be better with a bonus added to it.

I would say $20/£20 is much too little to take to a land-based casino ... especially if you want to play tables like blackjack and roulette as you mentioned. Maybe you can get away with it if they have some slots with low minimum bets - I've certainly had many enjoyable nights in playing online casinos with just £20 of deposited funds, occasionally even £10. But to get a seat at a table with decent(low house edge) rules playing Blackjack you usually have to bet £2/£3/£5 per hand in my experience, roulette can sometimes be different because of the way they work the chips at those tables, but if you want to play a lot of numbers at a time then again, I just don't think £20 is enough. They totally destroyed the high street bookmakers roulette games here in the UK when they enforced a £2 per spin max bet, I mean thats like 10p per number if you want to play half the board ... nobody is playing roulette to win £3.50, are they ? ...

Ultimately though, if you are enjoying yourself going out with your £20 then I'd say the alternative answer is YES, it surely is enough! Don't be surprised that you are losing it most of the time - thats just how gambling often works in general. Lots of small losses, occasional big wins. You can alter this a little with some strategy of course :)
