I gave my ID and my bank statement for verification which was approved and now they want a video of my residence and where I took my selfie? I wasn't at home when I took my selfie for my verification.

@dadman68 Hi there and welcome to the forum.

Requesting a video of your residence is completely senseless and ridiculous! Be very careful of such KYC requests because that is not the norm!

By the way, may we know which casino it is, so others can be aware of  it?

That would make me pause as well.

A video of the residence is a very different request from normal address verification. Before sending anything, I’d want them to explain exactly what they’re trying to verify and why the bank statement wasn’t enough. If the answer is vague, that’s useful information in itself.

Also worth keeping the thread tidy: dates, what they asked for, what you already sent, and whether the request came through the casino account or email. That usually makes it easier for people here to spot whether it’s normal friction or something stranger.

I’ve been playing at online casinos for several years, and no casino has ever asked me for a video of my home. It’s strange. proof of address, such as a bank statement or a residence certificate is sufficient to verify it.

I had something similar requested by lucky7even casino. They wanted a selfie of me standing outside my house with my name plate visible.  Played down my funds and never went back again to this site.

What a bizarre request! How much is your withdrawal for?

I would also be very uncomfortable with this kind of request. A proof of address document already shows where you live, so I don’t really understand what extra verification a home video is supposed to provide. If they have a specific concern, they should explain it clearly instead of just asking players to record their private space. I’d definitely ask them for the reason before sending anything.

I agree. A proof of address should normally be enough unless the casino has a very specific reason for asking for more. A video of someone’s home feels much more intrusive than standard KYC, so they should explain exactly what they need to confirm, how the video will be stored, and whether there is a safer alternative.

With requests like this generally theres more to it. ie the person is actively using a VPN , suspected fake documentation/prior bans etc.

It may seem extreme but documentation is easy to fake these days so asking for a selfie outisde your house etc(which they can confirm via google streetview etc) when there is suspicion is a new thing thats becoming a more common request. I don't see how them holding such an video/image is any more dangerous than them holding your unedited ID/bank statement which they can do alot worse with if stolen.

As for not taking a selfie in your home etc for the video I don't see what the issue is, tell the casino that and see what they say? It could be a metadata issue(ie if the metadata indicated you were in another country/area than your claimed address).
