Depositing Using Your Mobile Phone Bill

Recommended Posts

Before I write my question below I just want to say that I have never used this form of depositing (by adding the amount on to your mobile bill) nor do I agree with this method of depositing, In fact I think it is ridiculous that casinos even allow it for those who are vulnerable this method of depositing can just send them spiralling into debt..

But that's my rant over and this is what I wanted to say:

So, I was scrolling through some terms and conditions of a casino last night when I came across this particular one:

51. If we are informed by your mobile network operator that you have not settled your mobile phone bill in relation to deposits made to your casino account we will void all the bets on your Player Account.

I have no idea if this is a standard terms for this deposit method since I've never used it however there could be other reasons a bill isn't paid, right? Innocent reasons I mean, not just that the person hasn't paid it? So then that person could risk have winnings forfeited I assume.

It's just such a risky way to deposit don't you all think?

Geeees! This is something new to me! I've never heard of this possibility before!

Needless to say, just my personal thoughts, from all that I do know about using smartphones, depositing this way would only open even more new ways for hackers to steal funds from the users!

Smartphones are never smart enough to prevent interceptions of their encrypted scripts, even with the best security apps installed! All those 'secured transcripts' could easily be collected, deciphered and all the info on the user could be gained! If you've read one of the latest articles on this matter, then you would know that even the 'Guru' himself was completely astonished as how easy it was to get all the required info on any particular smartphone user!  <_<

It's a silly way of depositing in all aspects and I'm wondering if it is just a UK thing? I'm even surprised the Gambling Commission would approve such a method because they really are on the ball when it comes to problem gambling.

I'm not even sure how it work - how the casino operator would be able to add the deposit on to phone bill

If there's a will...there's a way! Casinos are always looking for new CONVENIENT ways to get more deposits from customers, disregarding any concerns about user's safety or security! Totally irresponsible of any casino management that agrees to use this new method of depositing!

Money is the root of all evil...and convenience is the open pathway to it!  <_<

I think they should scratch off this deposit methode since there's no limit to it, at least not to hard line phones. I've used this methode a couple years ago and it's quite expensive one. For €10 deposit I had to pay almost 30% extra. It's ridiculous and never use it again. It's a very irresponsible deposit methode. I do not recommend this one, at all!

It's just like using a credit card isn't it. You're just depositing with money you don't have yet and for some people that money never comes I just think in this day and age casinos and all those associated with the legalities should be looking more at protecting the player!

Indeed, it's like using the CC and for some people it's very dangerous if they don't careful with it.

The UK too!

No it's definitely not a new way of depositing it's been around for some time now I actually think I've bought it up in the forum before. My attention was mainly focusing on that particular term in my first post.

One of the deposit methods used mostly by UK operators such as mFortune and PocketWin to name a few I could remember as we speak...

Risky you say, but isn't it any other deposit method just as risky as deposit by phone bill if player is not in total control of his/her gambling?  :unknw:

I guess it is yeah it's just the idea of the phone bill acting as a credit account and then the player risking winnings if the phone bill hasn't been paid. Just asking for trouble if you ask me.

It is a trouble after all, I could say that based on my experience dealing with dozens of complaints against the aforementioned brands... It appears that whenever a player used that deposit option then player is supposed to present the next phone bill regardless when such bill is due and sometimes it happens players could not get their withdrawals only because such bill is due at the end of the month. In short, you must wait until that bill is paid before you get your money.
