I did some individual counseling during Covid for almost a year, Just to inspect myself and address childhood experiences/memories that was never addressed. When I grew up( Many can relate to this) our feelings and emotions was suppressed as a child. Our parents were always right and you could never speak back at them, and you could never express how you felt or had the option to deal with you emotions - It was a matter of get over it! When I grew older and started drinking, I used this to basically numb my feelings/emotions instead of addressing it because it was all I knew how to deal with my feelings/pain/hurt - This not dealing with issues or address the root causes of problems had a negative impact on my marriage. With Covid and being at home, I decided I want to work on myself and address these issues and become a better person in every aspect of my life to manage and deal with situations. Counseling help a lot and this whole process improved my marriage and I am on a whole new higher level of happiness and myself I am truly happy as well. Sorry I know this is off topic from your question @Blackjax but this is what I was up to the past 12 - 16 months more or less, so I guess this shifted my mind, daily life, which is why I do not watch TV or follow sport anymore in general. I am on the verge of breaking certain cycles growing up ( simply as I do not want my kids to go through what I went through) as well as generational curses, especially the unhealthy ones.
