Budget gambling

Recommended Posts

So I gamble on a budget. Which means on payday I pay my bills set out money for food and other expenses . Give my beautiful daughter her budget  for puberty ridden shopping sprees and  such... do a bit of saving and then divide what’s left into my gamble budget weekly. My budget does vary since I work freelance :)  I think I’m being smart though I never go over my budget since I have been gambling to much when I started gambling and I almost got in trouble. My winnings go directly to my fun things saving account where we save for spontaneous trips. And fun stuff.

Anyway last weeks I’ve been full with work long days of chasing online frauds thieves and millions carrying Nigerian princes ( I’m a cyber security consultant) and mostly when I’m home my time goes to my child or falling asleep at trying to watch stranger things 3 which means I did not gamble and my budget is sitting here staring at me. And I almost started logging in when my eye caught a beautiful add about a very nice laptop. Mine needs to be replaced.

*****... I guess I am not gambling until the 27th:)))))

but I wondered has any of you ever had this moment? Where you realize that the gambling money will also be very suitable if you give it to something solid? Instead of slamming it on slots?

Who here does it for entertainment? Like me? And who has a certain goal , also me ? Or who just wants to hit that jackpot?  Oh also me...

Just curious:)

Ah, Cyber Security, one of my interest; ISACA, COBIT etc ?

I think we all have that moment. Gambling hardens you to the value of money; think nothing of spunking 500 quid in a slot but then recoil in horror when paying 500 quid for a  two night stay somewhere etc.

Due to various reasons my gambling’s been cut short over the last several weeks. Was going to wait until my risk free Redbet bonus comes tomorrow but guess that’s not for appearing ?

I work online too and my hardest thing to overcome was that my money actually has value, It took me a good  2+ years to stop gambling my money like its nothing and actually withdrawing them via Paypal and stuff.
Sometimes I would even pay people to exchange my money from Paypal to SKRILL and take like 10% just for me to gamble and have fun lol.
"Budget" was the thing that is no existent for me thanks lord that I receive payments on Paypal and not on SKRILL or directly to my VISA credit card because I probably couldn't control myself, nowadays I just keep money on PayPal and withdraw them on Credit Card when I need money for something.
The last couple of months I am sticking with the rule that 20% of monthly payments go to gambling and after If I lose everything not even 5$ are gonna be deposited, yeah I get bored sometimes not playing the thing that helps me is watching various youtube streamers it really became enjoyable and it holds me under control at least for now.

My biggest mistake that happened 2years ago  is having CSGO skins in my inventory  that were worth 10,000$+ and not withdrawing single cent, instead, I was just gambling for days until I lost everything and when you lose everything then you actually realize what value that had, but gambling just makes me forget that its just too entertaining.
Edit: For people that don't know CSGO-Counter Strike Global Offensive gambling was popular 2 years ago and you could sell skins for real money and stuff you still can but 90% of gambling sites are shut down by Valve company that made the game.

Think a good thing to do is to spend your winnings on something - pay off a loan, put to a car, a holiday etc: it means that you can see the fruits of your labour; otherwise all you do is recycle the money, never seeing the benefit. Sounds daft, but if you don't you just see the 4k go to 3 to 2 to 1 etc. Then pooof. Gone. All that, for er, nothing.

The bored thing is very true also I realized that thinking about gambling and not doing it was a struggle when I stated the budget . But good for you that you are also aware!

I have a friend who has the exact same job as you! Pretty cool.

Before I had my three younger children I never really set myself a budget but now it's very different. Tbh I have very little set aside every month to be able to play and my deposits now are limited to say the least. But  I am completely happy with that. I'm happy with how I play now and enjoy it more now than I did before when it was becoming more of an obsession than fun.

Thanks for sharing, Miranda! :good:

Playing with a preset gambling budget for the last couple of years and hey, must admit the number of poor situations where greed is taking the best of us punters has dropped dramatically. The only difference is that I'm using a monthly instead of a weekly budget which often results in playing for just a day or two on a monthly basis. :D

When it comes to unexpected winnings, well, I have a wife who's always capable to find the most proper place for some extra few hundreds you know... ?

im thinking of setting up a gambling budget, although i will need to consolidate the 5-6 casinos i play on to 2-3.

Then work out decent gambling limits for each casino. I pretty much play the same games across the casinos.

However its so easy to just setup an account at new one that i need to consider

Anyway as i get paid at the beginning of the month any gambling would be confined to end of the month, although im sure casino algorithms are aware of payday periods , end of month and shift patterns and can adjust stubborness of games to match.

Maybe a weekly budget rather than a large end of month budget would be better

Yet another fellow community member who's convinced AI is taking the online gambling? :)

Cause you have to be very rich to spent a lot of money on it.

But can say that gambling really can help to become a very rich person.

Well, after all these years I'm still waiting to meet a person who actually became very rich person by being a gambler. :D
