pinnit2015
Due to personal circumstances, in which my dad sadly lost his own battle against an illness, I'm going to be on an online sabbatical for the foreseeable future. I've a lot of stuff to sort out back home and to be honest I won't have the time to spend slotting for while (my lucks been patchy the last 6 months anyhow, so it's really no loss). Plus, i don't think my savings accounts can hack me doing 5 quids on Bonanza, as a distraction By the time I'm back i envisage A. DOA2 has, after the initial flurry of 30kx and 40kx wins will have settled down (or Netent will have tweaked the maths after they realise it's too loose) B BTG's Opal Fruits game will be as good as Holy Diver, that is, not very and C. People will still continue to play, and complain they've not been paid, at dodgy casinos. Wow - how surprising. Hopefully, the following will happen: 1. No longer will people play at clip joints, 2. All the dodgy operators will have gone, 3. The UKGC stops reading the Guardian newspaper and lumping all gamblers in with problem gamblers and mistreating the entire demographic due to political pressure and/or ego. 4. Self Exclusion disappears as a gambling hot topic 5. The UKGC re-focusses their energy on the real issues, not playing for the media soundbite, or some big head Charlie looking to see his name in print. 6. Someone takes a Casino to court for implementing unfair terms and conditions, wins, and we see a complete review of them all - oh, how I'm fed up hearing 'it's in our t's and c's: yeah, big deal mate, they're illegal Sadly, maybe only one the above is possible. Anyhow - best of luck slotting and remember - they want you on the game for as long as possible: a seated player is a revenue generating player: they love it. So, win big, get out and go enjoy your money; don't re-feed the beast. Best of luck ValDes and cocopop3011 1
ValDes
So sorry to hear about your dad, Mr P! Been in your shoes 2 and a half year ago and it still hurts... Still, you have proven yourself as a man with a great spirit and sense of humour, so have no doubts you'll be okay very soon. If I could help with something or you you just need to drop a line to someone who's been through all that already, well, PM me. As for the rest, I think someone have already read your comment here and obviously decided to issue a fortnightly newsletter. The most interesting part: https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/for-gambling-businesses/Compliance/General-compliance/Social-responsibility/Joint-Competition-and-Markets-Authority-Gambling-Commission-letter-to-the-gambling-sector.aspx https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/news-action-and-statistics/news/2019/Gambling-Commission-launches-new-National-Strategy-to-Reduce-Gambling-Harms.aspx And it goes the same way ahead... Sincerely hope to see you again with us very soon. pinnit2015, cocopop3011 and Fiekie247
Fiekie247
Sorry to hear about your father MR Pinnit. I remember when ValDes announced the passing of his dad when he was absent suddenly. My dad passed away about 16 years ago due to lung cancer which he suffered through for almost 4 years. I remember the days when they pumped him so full of morphine and he was so confused that he didnt even recognize me.. That was the saddest part of his last days on earth in hospital as I visited him... He is in a better place now. I can say it does get better with time, however you will get that day where just randomly it hits you and you have a moment of saddness... Our thoughts are with you and your family and as ValDes stated we are all here and hope to see you back here in the near future pinnit2015
Afi4wins
Grief will strike everyone sooner or later...our parents must go one day, as we would too, then it's our kids turn to grief. But never fear...time is a real healer...although some would take much longer than they should...simply because they couldn't let go. What is gone, is gone, and will never come back...but we have to keep moving on...after a brief stop... My dad went first...1 year later, my mom...I've been alone ever since...for several years now...but I'm still me...and I always will be me! pinnit2015 and Fiekie247

Our thoughts are with you and your family and as ValDes stated we are all here and hope to see you back here in the near future Thanks Mr F - my dad had exactly the same. January, the results came back positive as it had shrunk and hadn't spread. Roll forward two months and it was secondary (as anyone will know, if it's confined to one place you can have many years ahead of you still, but once it's spread then sadly there's not a lot to hope for). Funnily enough he was exactly the same when i last saw a week or so ago - so confused and didn't even recognise me/brother/sister. Shows you show indiscriminate the disease can be and how quickly it moves. He was a proud man and tbh he would not have liked how he was in the last few days, so in many respects it's a blessing. Need to help my mum out - 53 years married (I'm 37 and my dad was a very, very young 74)- so she especially will feel it. Though i did say, as she's not a driver, that i wasn't for running her around like an Uber driver like he did I'll need to go and sort my wayward siblings out - nothing that a few slaps round the head won't fix ValDes and Fiekie247
Fiekie247
They were married for 53 years which is very long and I can imagine for it to last that long, they must have been super happy in their marriage, which is why she would take it very hard My dad was only 38 when he passed away from cancer... Just show you this sickness does not know or ask for a specific age. I was not that close to him, my parents divorced when I was 5 and I saw him maybe once a year after that., however 1 year before he passed on I saw him like 4/5 times a month. We stayed about 120km/80miles apart and he would drive everytime coming without even letting his new family at that time know he is coming to me. He came and ask my mother for forgiveness in his final days, kinda like he knew his time has come, even me for not being there and I forgave him way before then. He also admitted to me that he always knew that his new family does not like me that much etc and kinda didnt accept me as his child., but then he didnt know how to handle it... I was hurt, but at least gave me some closure on why he'd been so distant all those years. Talking about a good 12 years. Anyways enough about me, all the best and good luck with all the funeral arrangments.
