Self-exclusion and progressive jackpot wins

Recommended Posts

I am planning to win the MegaMoolah progressive jackpot this year :) However, I have self-excluded from some casinos in the past, which by extension meant all casinos in that group. My reason for self-excluding has always been due to some dissatisfaction with the casino rather than for Responsible Gambling reasons, such as problem gambling/addiction. Self-excluding for me was a way of assuring the casinos that I would not be coming back to them! I didn't consider the potential long-term impact that my actions could have at the time; it's only lately I am considering it.

I am just wondering about the checks that the casinos do alongside the game provider (Microgaming in the case of MegaMoolah) prior to paying out jackpot wins. I am finding it hard to source the exact nature of the checks, but I do know it includes confirmation of identity, checks that you're not self-excluded (or otherwise excluded) from the casino that you've won the jackpot at, that no illicit activity such as money laundering is involved, and that you haven't somehow cheated the system to win the jackpot.

So, my question is: could they refuse to pay you out the jackpot if they find out that you've excluded yourself from some other casino/casino group?

Anyone have any experience of cross-group sharing of self-exclusion data?

First of all, let me admit that I too had been planning to win a Mega Moolah Jackpot since many years ago...and of course, I did get them...but the bread crumbs version...oh, okay, the peanuts version...a $100 jackpot prize.   :p

So...all the best and good luck on your side Scientist...find and break the jackpot's DNA code and you'll win the Grand Jackpot!  ;)

As for your exclusion question...hmmm...that doesn't seem to bring any bright light for you, it seems to me. Once excluded, you are no longer eligible to play or win at the casino...wins would be confiscated...so a jackpot win may be nulled and voided...but perhaps a lot would depend on the casino's discretion I would say.

To be fair to the OP....i think people, incorrectly, used SE to simply close accounts in the past. Now the consequences are coming back as it's been highlighted more that SE is a RG tool, not a 'i don't like the company' tool.

Answer to your question - you're just going to need to play at those that you aren't SE. I can't imagine MG saying no to your win at a non SE casino. Otherwise they'd need to check every MG casino. In fact, i don't even think legally they'd be allowed to do that.

Beware though - more and more casinos are merging and any SE will be carried over - even if they're not on the same licence.

Presumably you're not on Gamstop because then that becomes a different conversation.

I am planning to win the Mega Moolah Jackpot.

Read that , no further comments needed. SE or not. :D

If you do win a nice big jackpot mate, just don't go buying red Nike shoes or red Spiderman suit...or red whatever else...

your 'dragon' wife would only spew fire onto you and then ask for your jackpot money...

just joking of course Volendam...don't take it personally or seriously...just go and win that jackpot first...then we'll talk!  B)

Hmmm... I may just have to compose a blanket email to all the casino groups I have excluded from in the past and request that they reverse the SE... T&C's for all casinos I've played at state that a SE can be reversed by requesting it expressly in writing and allowing a period of time (typically 7 days) to elapse before being able to access their sites again. Doesn't mean I'd go back to them, just means that I won't have the SE issue potentially plaguing my online gaming activity. Thanks for the replies.

Yep...if you intend to win that Mega Mewlah jackpot, then that would be the best move...

just don't let any SE clause stop you from getting your Mewlah money...oh sorry...that's supposed to be Moo-lah...(making a cow's face... :D)

Here comes the bad news which is you cannot cancel active Self-Exclusion agreement. Unless we talk about half-rogue operator licensed in Antigua...
