The New AskGamblers Awards - It's Time to Nominate

Hi guys

Well it’s another year and a fresh set of AskGamblers Awards. You’ve probably already seen our banners scattered across the site but let me just talk you through this year’s awards and how you can get involved and start nominating today.

Last year was so successful it was only natural we were going to do it again. Only this time it’s bigger and better! Why? Because you have the most important role of all. This year you will be the ones who nominate your favourite casinos which will then be shortlisted ready for the voting process. You can cast your nominations today in the following categories:

  • Best Casino
  • Best New Casino

The shortlist made from your nominations will be announced throughout October and that’s when we really need you. You’ll then have the chance to vote for the shortlisted candidates that you think are worthy of the award, alongside a jury. To get that shortlist ready we need you to start nominating and I’ll explain below how exactly you can nominate.

You’ll also vote in the Player’s Choice category and the winner of this award will be exclusively from your final votes only!

Aaaaand...this year there’ll also be a Slot of the Year category. More info about this category will come out soon so I’ll make sure to keep you all updated on that.

Nominate Now

Nominations have already started but don’t worry because you have until the end of September to get your nominations in.

You’ll see our nominations banner inside each casino review. To nominate your chosen casino all you need to do is visit its review page and click on the nominate button on the banner.

I’ll keep you posted when the shortlist is in, so you’ll know exactly when we need your votes and you can look out for the banners in and around the site too.

The award ceremony will take place in Belgrade in January of 2019, but we’ll keep you fully updated with any news and progress along the way.

You can also visit the link for more information – AskGamblers Awards: Get Your Nominations in on Time!

And as always guys I’m always here if you need to fire any questions for me. Good luck with your nominations!

Yeah...I have one simple question...for now at least...

Can I vote for as many casinos as I like...or each member can only vote for one casino in each category?

Im afraid one casino only.

Well you'll definitley only be able to vote for one, but as for nominating I'm not entirely sure. I'll email the team and ask them now Afi.

Can't really think of any newbies that stand out in the UK, or that I've signed up to recently. As for established joints, there is very little between the ones i play at (Novibet, Highroller, Verajohn, Videoslots and Casumo). If Betat got back to their original VIP scheme they'd be in for a shout but they haven't and they won't.

What is the same across all is that their loyalty/reward schemes have gotten worse   (for those in the UK, blame the taxing on bonus's offered on the lack of them - apparently)

In summary - like pinning the tail on the donkey, any of the above for me.

Trada are probably better than all the above for rewards but their lack of quickspin on their games, limited support time put me off - though, probably the casino i'd have most faith in to play fairly. Even with breaching terms they give you a do-over (spirit of the terms, not the letter)

10 years ago it would have been Bet Victor for me - cracking loyalty scheme and one that probably benefitted me to the tune of 10k plus in a year

I agreee that years ago (I can't go back 10 but 5/6) Bet Victor was a great casino and probably would have got my nomination then but I stopped playing there for the exact opposite reason. They never ever gave me loyalty rewards/free spins etc. Think the most I ever got from them was a fiver and sure enough they've faded away. My partner still plays there though I think.

I had a 25% cash back for losses and 25% on top of wins, 200 spins at a quid a month (wager free) and then the events (Ascot/Football) which included travel, money, hotels....it really was great. I was medium highrolling back then to probably the tune of two grand a week. Once i stopped they kick you off it pretty soon ish. When i left it the scheme was already on the downturn - 25%'s became 10 etc and no events etc.

Still have the odd go there - they have some pretty low wagering and next to none excluded games but a shadow of what they were.

Before the new UK rules kicked in 3 Dice had a pretty great loyalty scheme - Rainy Days funds of borrowing off the casino and repaying upon withdrawal etc.

Probably the only 2 in recent memory that were any good.

Changed days though.

Depends what you weight the greatest.

I go by wild lines. That unfortunately puts Casumo top but it loses out by being a greedy casino who have decimated their loyalty scheme.

Some vote on boring things like withdrawal speed and reputation/ethics :-p

Well, if a casino can give me many wins, but takes several days to pay up...sorry...no vote from me!

If I win, I want my money instantly...and that gets my vote!

A casino with bad customer support services can never pay fast, so speed is indeed critical for me.  8)

That is true - Which is why Videoslots is still the best in terms of Loyalty scheme, weekend booster and friday cash back.

Casumo is great for me in terms of everything, but since they took that Sunday super spins when leveling up away as well as they do not give any deposit offers, is a bit bad for me.

Their extended crystal at level 180 is just a way of telling you your not getting a reward for going round 7 times. Then when you do complete it you get a fiver! Still like the way their deposit bonus works though.

Whoever decided to pour their loyalty budget into their reel races needs a stern chat. Cut down on them and divert it back into levels/random loyalty and you’d have a top 3 outfit.

Nominations based on gambling luck... Hmm, that's a pretty interesting approach and must admit it makes perfect sense. :)

Speaking of which, email to say upgraded to Club Royale on Mr Green. Looks like 8k down on Bonanza does have its benefits :-p

See one of the perks is win a trip to Macau - now, you don’t need to be an accountant to know that if you booked it yourself it would have been cheaper, so it’s the least they can do :-/

And we all know that gamblers are fickle.... someone gets 5 scatters on DOA and it’s the best casino ever, even if they want to speak to your mother to confirm identity...

Conversely, someone doesn’t win and that casino is rigged, rigged I tell you.

End of day, very little between a lot of the good ones these days that it boils down to the granular. If I stacked my top 3, you’d find very little between them: some slightly slower payers but better rewards, some have Merkur, some don’t etc.

The bad ones have a lot in common too - poor support, poor bonus term, poor payers, non payers blah de blah

Two Netents in the list is two too many :-p

I don’t even know what slots I like anymore. I’m going from HV Push Gaming the last day or so to some Elk tonight (which are more fun but rubbish pays).

Iv had a few decent hits in that Wild Seas, though nothing amazing. But have to say, apart from my usual 10 in Sweet Alchemy, I play very few of them. Respin Rhino is a decent one though - I have a growing appreciation of Pragmatic Plays.
