Hello :)

i am just wondering about which license a casino operates under to provide gambling i Norway?

Hello emmdah and welcome to AskGamblers forum. :)

If you are facing troubles with particular online casino, you can check their license to operate and who is the issuer of this license and submit a formal complaint in front of the license issuer directly. This information you could usually find at the bottom of casino website.

Most operators normally place a link at the footer section of their websites or a badge which indicates in which jurisdiction it is licensed. You can also find the licensing information under the general terms and conditions or in the 'About Us' section. Or you can contact the live chat operator.

Yeah, tricky situation I would say... As far as I remember the Norwegian government was planning to block all foreign online gambling websites, but still nothing on the horizon and as you assured firsthand, Norwegian gamblers are not only still able to play at an online casino they wish, but they are also a preferred target group due to their good solvency.

The "Norwegian" casinos even have Norwegian people to front their casino.. It's ironic.. Norway wants to be strict to protect their citizens, and yet there are so many dealing with depression and debt because of gambling problems.. And the casinos really don't care. They speak so highly about responsible gambling, where is the responsibility when they illegally target prohibited areas? ;) the sites is in Norwegian, the support, the people behind the company and so on.. So they are they cant say they try to follow the law.. Even the costumer support on most sites don't even know what to answer. They think it's legal since they operate from Malta.. This is the perfect example on being greedy.. profit from people, saying its legal, when it's not. Make people suffer because they want to make money..:)

  • 3 weeks later...

I've heard that if Norwegian wins something in Las Vegas, he/she has to pay 25% (I think) of it as a tax, to the country?

Didn't know they are strict when it comes to gambling. Never seen online casino restricting Norway, therefore I thought Norway must be very mild with law regulation in this field. Hmmm..
