Multiple Accounts at Casino

Recommended Posts

I always wanted to ask this, even so i talked to some of the live support agents from some of casinos,so wanted to ask what do you think of this problem.I had multiple accounts in some of the casinos, which i am not proud of it,but i see it as its not my mistake, actually that is innocent mistake and the reason was i didn even remembered that i had previously account at some of the casinos.

What bothers me is 2 things, the first one,why they allow you to open 2 accounts, when we all know they track anything IP address,Mac address etc. and when i was asking the live support agents during the closure of my second account ,what happens next??If i make deposit and i win something will they guarantee me that i wont be banned,Yes,they were assuring me that i wont be having problems, just because the other account is closed,so should we trust them, when, i will say it again we all know their Terms for multiple accounts!!

You should be good to go, I had double accounts issues aswell and after one of the accounts was deleted, there shouldnt be any further problems, only if you would win something while having double accounts, winnings would be voided.

And we can trust them on this.

Of course ,Guru has last word. :pardon:

But did you made cashout from some of casinos you had double accounts ,Awena,of course after the closure ?

The problem is that casino actually see that you have multiple accounts when you make withdrawal(at least i think so). I have great thing to do when i am in doubts and need something to be confirmed by live chat agent. When they reply - i am not lazy, and spent time making screenshot of chat. If problems in future - i have proofs that they tell me this.

I've had few times multiple accounts by mistake too. Spoke to live support and deleted the second account, after that made a withdrawal without any problem. :)

When i first started in Gambling (some 5 years ago) a certain casino was offering a nice NDB. I opened at that casino like 20 accounts. One year ago I have asked their support to close all my accounts and let me play just on one. They became very angry on me but never closed my accounts.

On all other casinos I have just one account. If I do not remember if I have an account I ask the support first.

I am trying to remember but I can not as I had many deposits this month,I would lie if I say I did cashout after deleting double account.

And my logic is telling me that it wouldnt be in their interest to loose their customers that way.

What is important is to delete double account and that should be it.

Not sure if casino reps here are gonna like the following, but players were always my top priority anyways...

Why casinos allow you to open more than one account?  I believe the reason why most online casinos would let you create more than one account /despite it's totally against their own terms and conditions/ is simply because they don't care enough. After all these years of gambling online I just cannot find another logical explanation as of why you would never take care and apply some measures to make sure your customers are not going to go against your terms and conditions. Is it so expensive and difficult to implement a simple check upon registration, at least when it comes to identical first and last name or email? Of course not, it would take just a couple of minutes before the newly registered account is being activated... Actually, there is another much better solution to this problem and it is called KYC /Know Your Customer/ procedure. But KYC must be applied immediately after the registration and before any deposit is being made, not when and if a withdrawal request is requested like 99% of online operators are doing right now. This was casino will be sure whom it is dealing with, the problem with multiple accounts will be resolved immediately, lots of future troubles and issues will be prevented... The only con is the fact that applying KYC immediately after the registration would cost time and would probably make some eager player feels angry, but compared to the possible number of issues that could be avoided it definitely worth the troubles in my humble opinion.

What would happen if I close my second account? If you do that before requesting a withdrawal I guess everything should be fine and hassle free. If you do that afterwards, you are in a trouble and most probably /99.99%/ your winnings will be void. What NextTimeWin suggested above is very important though - always try to keep record of all your chats/emails with casinos when such important matters are being discussed!

I think it's happened to the best of us to be honest. With so many casinos it is hard to remember whether or not you have registered and back in the early days of gambling I know I too had multiple accounts by accident and they were always closed. Now I just use the same email address for all my gambling needs so I pretty much know where I have and have not registered.

In terms of playing with a multiple account and withdrawing I would personally air with caution and check with live help first that you can withdraw should u need to before u make a deposit. I know my luck. And with me and Valleys both playing I like to check this too when it comes to us sharing an IP address

Hmmm..always record a chat session.Well this is what happened to me,at Maple Casino.I always ,always check with the live support do i have double accounts, talking for Microgaming casinos,so the first operator told me that i am allowed to have 2 user names ,like 2 accounts, one for the instant player and 1 for the download version  :o does she know her job right or she was talking bull..it and the second operator told me that i am not allowed to have 2 accounts neither 2 user names, which is logical and i am aware of that. But since i closed the other account there ,i guess i should try and take the 200% they are offering me with the 50 free spins plus.So will try for sure!

I cannot comment this topic from my experience, since I barely have 10-15 accounts opened in total, in different casinos.

But I'd agree with Guru that they don't care so much, at least in the beginning, when they can have only an advantage of your account or details or even a deposit.

But when there's about the payments or bonuses, rule about prohibition of possessing multiple accounts, can be ace from the hole for them and I think they can gladly use it against you, in such situations..

So, for example,

1. A casino lets you open multiple accounts

2. The casino closes your accounts ONLY if you try to withdraw your winnings (from one of your accounts)

3. The casino does not try to cancel your account if you LOSE bets (from one of your accounts)

This means it is in the casino's interests to encourage people to open multiple accounts. Because if the customer loses, fine, and if the customer wins, that is also fine. Allowing multiple accounts is an insurance against ever having to pay out.

This system is obviously unfair and against their gaming licences rules.

If a casino insists on shutting down an account because there are multiple accounts (and stealing the winnings), it should be forced to shut down all the customer's accounts and reimburse them any bets made and lost in those accounts.

It's not fair to people who might have created a new account because they lost access to their old accounts, or people who forgot they had an account with a particular casino.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

There are of course genuine people who open an account who have completely forgotten they opened an account maybe a few years ago but then there will always be people who abuse the system and purposely open multiple accounts. There's just no way a casino can tell the difference between these two kinds of people.

Most casinos won't let you register with the same email address or username though.

If I may chime in here, duplicate accounts are kind of an interest of mine.

As mentioned, there are two different kinds of duplicate accounts, those who intentionally do it in order to claim a bonus, and those who do it unintentionally.

Now with most online casinos there are some countermeasures in place to stop both accidental and intentional creation of multiple accounts and usually these are to do with the information that is supplied when you register.

This can obviously be circumvented by providing wrong or altered information at the time of registration.

What about IP/Mac Address?

Simple answer is: VPNs and Mac Address spoofing. One of the more common methods is to just use an internet cafe or different device.

Was it accidental or intentional?

Now the fun part. Determining who is intentionally creating duplicate accounts and those who aren't.

Generally somebody who is doing it intentionally will create several accounts in a short space of time or many over the course of a month or longer, and follow the same behavior.

The accidental however will follow a more sporadic path.  The main point however is, there are few of them (Usually about 2-4).

The people who intentionally create several accounts do affect the genuine players. It makes it difficult for the casino to offer more generous bonuses, it limits the amount of bonuses that can be offered, and affects the overall gameplay.

The main thing to get from this however is always check with the casino if you are unsure that you have an account already, if you do they can help you decide what the best course of action is, whether that is to close the old account(s) and keep one, or try and reclaim them (Usually the best course of action if a deposit has already been made/bonuses already redeemed).

Any questions, thoughts or comments ask away guys - I'm all ears :)

Hi there and welcome to AskGamblers.

Well, I believe everything about duplicate/multiple casino accounts has already been said and discussed on numerous occasions, both in this particular forum and I guess each and every other gambling related forum on this planet. :)

The bottom line is once accepted, the relevant casino terms and conditions must be followed. simple and clear. If you are having issues with that, you'd better not accept these terms or forward your concerns/issues in front of the relevant regulatory body or ADR provider.

Good evening,

I never thought I would find my way into this thread, but here I am.... So I've been a verified player since August on (let's call it) X-casino and managed to win some money last month in November. I successfully made a couple of withdrawals but still have a few more to make. So I made another withdrawal this week but it was and is still pending and to my big surprise I received an email claiming and I qoute:

"Hello X,

we're writing to you regarding your withdrawal requests.

Please note that your requests are currently on hold since we have detected several accounts with the same IP address as yours.

We will process your withdrawal requests once all accounts are fully verified.

Sincerely,

X Casino Cashier

www.X.com"

I contacted support right away and the person I spoke to thought it was strange and said it might just be a mistake (since I joined in June and was verified by August). He thought he would have an answer for me in a matter of hours. However, after a few hours I  got the response that it might take some time and I feel really awful right now.

Now, I am certain I do not have another account (the casino is quite new) and it would have been foolish of me to create one after my wins. What makes this mess worse is that a new legislation will come into effect on the first of January 2019 which means that if said casino does not get a swedish license by then... well yeah, I don't know what will happen. But I have an idea since I found this on another forum and I qoute:

"We have some sad news.

As a result of the passing of the introduction of new legisltation in Sweden with regard to Online Gambling, TradaCasino will no longer be able to offer services to players residing in Sweden.

All accounts registered from Sweden will be closed by 00:00 on the 1st of January 2019."

So what should I do? Should I be worried that they are just stalling so they can close my account when the new legislation kicks in? It does not seem like this casino have applied or gotten a license yet. Should I be worried about this multiple account claim? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Update: It looks like it was like the agent said. A mistake. However, I better show one of the replies I got just now.

"AS I have checked you withdrawals were sent today for managment approval. Should be processed by Monday"

I would lie if I said that I'm still not worried about the new legislation. I here turn to all of you, experienced veteran gamblers. What are your thoughts? Finally I would also like to add that I really enjoy this casino and hope my worries are unwarranted.

Best regards!

I’m wondering now how was possible to open account in casino group where I already had frozen account?

From my earlier experience I couldn’t open account in casino that was part of same casino group and where l already had locked account!

Readable:)? Understandable? Go ahead, leave a comment please

Tnx in advance for help

The thing is, not all casino groups use/share/implement the same rules and regulations within their own group...therefore, one casino may have slightly different terms in their T&C than the others.

However, this is not a common occurrence, but can still be found at certain casinos.

Perhaps one reason why this is happening is that a casino management can actually use this 'discrepancy' to trap ignorant players - such as accusation of having a duplicated account, to delay or deny winnings, by a breach of the casino's rules/terms, etc.

Whilst any casino system should prevent any new registration from an 'excluded' player, this doesn't always happen. Some casinos don't even have such a preventive system, which just goes to show their indifferent attitude towards their Responsible Gaming responsibilities.

Anyway, perhaps you should disclose here the names of that casino 'X' and 'Y'...to alert other players from getting caught by the same 'trap'.
