Can you make a living online gambling?

G’Day everyone, I hope this post might help myself and many others just starting on online gambling. I’ve been doing it now for about 5-6 weeks, have tried many casinos and bingo sites, mostly slots and bingo. I’ve had some success about 5-6 times on 30x playthroughs with no deposit bonuses, (I use as many as I can find J, but avoid 40x, 50x, 75x, 99x ...) and probably successfully withdrawn about $300 clear, perhaps after about $200 deposits, and battling for a couple who are hard to pay me.

As I’m new to the game, (excuse the pun lol), is there any advice that successful players have strategically that could advise us newbies how to avoid many mistakes, some costly. Especially seeing casinos being registered for nearly 2 decades, I’m sure many are wise. Be it casino’s, bonuses, whether to avoid playthroughs, playthrough on min bets or max, etc.. I would truely appreciate all advice and experience. Thank you in advance Can you make a living, brief advice is good, Im reading as many forums as possible, love the withdrawing forum by On a Mission, Thanks again.

PS- Already this site has helped greatly, much appreciated.

PPS- I do read all the terms and conditions on all sites and bonus requirements and research as much as possible. And if other forum topics you could link me too to help is easier.

The answer for me are both yes and no. Yes, because you can win credits and fulfill your daily needs. No, because the probability to win daily is less lower compare on losing your money when you play but who knows if you win pretty big jackpots. Good luck to you. Keep in mind that playing online casino is not suited for supplying daily needs it's just for fun or short term winnings.

A know a guy who is living by only playing poker, especially tournaments!

He used to live here in Serbia, but he went to US about ten years ago, as a part of students exchange program and he never came back! :D

I saw him last summer in our mutual hometown and he's still on the road of poker, living quite good! Dunno what's his secret

Yeah, I suppose playing Poker online is the only possible way to make a living on online gambling. I have probably a dozen of friends who are playing almost 24/7 Texas Hold'em with pretty decent results overall, capable to make some 2000 even 3000 USD per calendar month. :)

Hmm, I know about very succesfull punters. In fact: when you have an account at several sportsbooks it is possible to make a 100% winning bet. And I know it is possible to place 100% winning bets more easily on 'live betting', you just have to be patiented. If it is enough to make a winning ? I'll try and find out for my self right now....

Make a living out of gambling wins?

Naaah! I wouldn't recommend it! It's not everyday that a player can win at gambling...there'll definitely be losing days. At times, just 1 loss can be severe enough to wipe out a week's or even a month's winnings! Then it's all back to square one!

Treat gambling as a hobby, one which you can afford to indulge in...or else...best to stay out! No point walking the tightrope day in and day out...when just 1 severe mistake or loss could make you fall down really really hard! All long-time gamblers know this...and have gone through it at one time or another...including myself...and I wouldn't want to go back to where I was ever again!

So, always tread ahead step by step, carefully...because mistakes will happen...even to the very best players! ;)

I don't know if anyone watches a program called The Millionaire Matchmaker but its brilliant I love it.

The other day Paddy (the matchmaker) had a millionaire-ess (a lady millionaire) and have a guess how she made her millions??

Through POKER!

So I guess you can make a living through gambling!

It's possible, it depends on how you start off with gambling as in the amount of cash your using (Is it $10,000?) & gained after and how you finish off at the end of every day with your total. For me personally, no because gambling is inconsistent and not ongoing with winnings. Hit a super large jackpot then your "no" simply becomes a :good: YES :good: !

Just be careful not to get too hooked and get detached from reality! Gambling, sometimes for everyone & anyone, can be a monstrous vice like smoking or ladies dancing on poles.

If your willing to make this your quest then I bid you good luck! :hi:

The only way you can really make a successful living out of online gambling is if you manage your bankroll extremely well! I think it probably is possible as long as you can make the cashouts but if you can't cashout and constantly bust then no definitely not! I wouldn't recommend it but like Valdes I am always looking to gain from my deposits/freebies. Yes the slots are fun but the main priority is to win for me! check out winners screenshots new wins from me  :DB)

I believe many people out there can make a living from gambling. To make a living, firstly you must find the lowest edge game then you should find the best strategy there combine with your money management skill.

Keep in mind that you must follow your rule and never let your emotion controlling you.

Lol.. though it is hard to follow but it is worth trying.

For me, gambling is an expenditure and not an investment. I adopt the approach that the house will always win, eventually, so I just take what I can when I can. I think Luciana mentioned about her friend playing poker professionally. I've had a few mates who have earned decent money from it but only enough to make a better lifestyle for themselves and never enough to go professional. If you're talking about slots, blackjack or other table games then if you want to make a living I would not advise going down those routes.

My take on it is that you can definitely NOT making a living gambling, unless your name you're a professional gambler like Billy Walters or a pokerpro like Phil Ivey. Although I don't consider poker to fall in the category of gambling.

You cannot make a living on the long term, simply because the odds are stacked against you in every game you play. Sure, you can have a decent win occasionally, but on the long term the odds will hold up for basically every game you play. Be it slots, blackjack, roulette... it doesn't really matter.

Then we have the bonus question. I guess there are definitely bonuses around that give the player a +EV situation. Even then the edge would be extremely small and it would take a millions of spins to get ahead. And even then we have to ask ourselves, is it enough to make a "living" while gambling? Probably not if you consider the work put in and what you get out from it.

I'd advise anyone having the illusion you can make a living from gambling to get a real job lol. 99,99% of us are not professional gamblers. Professional gamblers have self-control (like Valdes pointed out), proper bankroll management, calculated bets and spot out situations that make the house weak in live casinos. Be it card counting, edge sorting (recent Phil Ivey court case), cash back (+EV for some blackjack dude winning millions employing basic strategy in Vegas some time ago) etc.

Some mentioned winning a progressive jackpot lol, well that would be equally to winning the lottery. How many progressive jackpot winners are there each year ? 50-100? When speaking of the big ones (Millions and up). Sorry, but don't be counting on it to happen lol.

As for poker it's possible but you have to be real skilled, and even then the edge is small. In conclusion it's definitely not worth it, because there is no positive expectation in gambling. It's ups and downs and a long road of uncertainty which doesn't make it a recommendable road to assume making a living on.

It's better to look at gambling as a form of entertainment with money you're prepared to lose, expecting nothing in return from it.

Sounds as pretty fair and honest opinion to me, thanks for sharing Adebisi! :good:

Couldn't agree more. Perhaps we could just add somewhere between the lines the sudden rush of adrenalin when we hit good. Like you did with Gonzo's Quest free spins feature at 8 euro bet per spin. ;)
