Hey Guys,

I am seeing more and more fruit-style games appearing, especially from the likes of Playson. Just wondered, what are your thoughts on these?

Personally, I am not a huge fan, but I'm thinking maybe I'm the only one with that view considering there are so many of them being released. Are they actually really popular and I just missed the memo?

I have never really tried any Playson slot but yes there are lots of fruit slots coming up off late. To be fair slots with card symbols and fruit symbols will never go away. Slot machines started with these symbols so maybe that's why the gambling industry likes these themes so much.

I've just added a Poll above, if you feel like voting 🙂

Before Playtech, there were only fruit games...and that's more than 30 years ago!

I started playing fruit slots at my local amusement arcades, on stand-alone desktops, when online games weren't even borne yet. During those days, yeah, I like them a lot, but only because there wasn't any other choice. Then came Kung-Fu games by Asian game designers, and that soon beat the fruit games in popularity.

Nowadays, I hardly play any fruit games any more, ever since Playtech took over my slotting life 20 years ago. I've tried (fun mode) a few of those new fruit games, but naaah, they simply couldn't catch my interest...not until providers start using excellent paytables all over again...and that could be a miracle come true!

Have you started spinning  slots again?

I mean I never totally stopped anyway, dabble in and out if I have spare cash, but mostly time.

But no, haven’t started playing like I used to, unfortunately those days are long gone.

Yeah I don’t get it, some of these fruit themed games do have modern-ish mechanics but even yesterday I seen two new ones (Playson, Fazi Interactive) but the most basic of slot! But they must bring in spins for providers to keep producing them?

The real problem with game designers, the way I see it, is the limitations put upon them by the providers and casinos...low paytables, low payouts, talk big (huge max wins) but lowish wins almost all the time, etc, etc, etc. If I'm a game designer, I'd be breaking my mind on how to come up with good interesting new games in view of all those limitations!

I honestly do not like games that does not have a bonus and free spins feature.

Sure the paytable looks very good, like 500x to x1000 for 5 of kind top symbol, but I just prefer slots with a feature, and 80% of the modern fruit theme slots does not have them. Just base game spinning and hope for the big wins.

Another thing - These slots are highly volatile in general, you can easy go 15 spins without a win, especially the 5 pay line ones.

With that said I think Gamomat produces the best ones out of them all for me personally, then maybe BGaming.

Playson is difficult to hit 100x, nevermind x500 or 1000x.

Could you vote in the poll above if you get time please 🙂
