The gambler is characterised by a decreased ability to control his or her own impulses.
Despite the many negative consequences, the patient's craving for gambling increases, the inability to play at the hot hand causes tension, aggression and an increased urge to gamble.
Gambling addiction is primarily an addiction and develops along the same lines as drug or alcohol addiction. Professional medical and psychological professionals should therefore be involved in the treatment of gambling addiction.

The treatment of gambling addiction cannot be short-term - it should be complex and prolonged. Patience and persistence should be shown in order to get rid of this serious illness. In many respects recovery from gambling addiction is not only about restoring the mental health of the pathological player, but also about reassessing life priorities and changing the way of life. Not only specialists (psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists) but also relatives and friends should be involved in the treatment process.

If you or your relatives have found yourself or your loved ones prone to gambling, turn to addiction treatment specialists for help: they will help to get rid of compulsive urge to gamble, they will suggest the best ways to solve your problems, find ways out of the personal crisis, provide psychological and social support.

May I know more about this certain Dave Morrison. He seems sort of an urban legend.

Hard to know if he was a SEO bot, certainly had an affiliate link in his avatar: English name, but obviously not, diff IP locations and seemed to go across a few forums copy and pasting nonsense, replying gibberish to threads for whatever reason.
