Don't notice it on Megaways really and some of the games it's not THAT bad, but some it's terrible. Seems to be some have incorporated the seconds delay by slowing down the spinning of the reels, and some have done it by having a pause at the end of each spin. 

Heavy sigh. 

Next stop is surely stake capping and credit checks before you open an account. Dunno how many nails a coffin can hold.

Couldn't agree more... It's simply getting harder and harder by the day for both players and everyone involved into online gambling supply chain  

BTW, couldn't find any UKGC official news on the matter. I know the so called 'consultation' on the matter was over at the beginning of September but  probably missed the UKGC news... Mr P?

From an industry insider 

It's not plastered on the site - though it was in the 20/21 business plan but i presume they've been communicating that it's a done deal, hence why the slots have already changed (consultation ended at the start of the month?)

Just goes to show, as with most consultations, that decisions are already made

I mean, I've red the news across other gambling related websites but kinda surprised such an important matter has been left without the relevant publicity which UKGC likes so much to demonstrate on every possible occasions...

And tightening up of the VIP schemes

Before any operator makes a customer a VIP, from 31 October it must:

• Establish that spending is affordable and sustainable as part of the customer’s leisure spend
• Assess whether there is evidence of gambling related harm, or heightened risk linked to vulnerability
• Ensure the licensee has up to date evidence relating to identity, occupation and source of funds, and;
• Continue to verify the information provided to them and conduct ongoing gambling harm checks on each individual to spot any signs of harm.

 

So, from relative carefree gambling in the early to mid 2000's, to:

 - Imposed autoplay restrictions,

 - Slowing of games to almost make them unplayable

 - Telling punters what methods they can and cannot deposit with - allow phone payments but not credit cards? Odd. 

 - The rise of SOW and Responsible Gambling - Casino's timing you out because you played for 60mins. 

 - Increased taxes, new one's on bonus's, making offering, together with not wanting to appear to incentivising addictions, customers goodwill gestures a risky business

 - Pushing of RTP's to Landbased levels - less playtime, less fun: part tax/regulation costs, part casino greed? Probably somewhere in the middle

 - The rise of ***** HTML conversions with probable maths tinkering - who knows. 

Undoubtedly some good things - banning of reverse withdrawals being one. But hard to see many overall positives. 

 

Now into the next stage - there's a consultation coming out re how to assess affordability - no doubt credit checks will be considered as part of this. Sheesh. Only so many blows a boxer can take before they stay down on the canvas.

I wont be surprised if mga and curacao casinos start allowing VPN usage for UK players. Some legit casinos might start doing this. MGA casino's wouldn't do this I'd imagine - sure they're be a punch up in the car park. True that Videoslots for example allowed folk to play in places like Aussie Land for a while but that was different - they didn't, and don't, have a licensing regime.

Yeah, and quite rightly, they don't accept UK

Where you have 2 of the more respected licensing regimes, one undermining the other by tacitly allowing casino's to take UK players, wouldn't go down well.
