Wait until folk bust out the old Commodore 64: Dizzy the Egg, Pitfall, Bubble Booble

BB was a fantastic game, as was the Dizzy series. I've had PS, Xboxes, Occulus's throughout the years but even if i live to 150 and play them it won't reach the hours i put into some of those games

Oh gees...I've never played any of those games before. Never heard of them either! 🤣

Inputting the cheats into the C64 was a job in itself - you had to type out a string of code and hope you didn't do a typo.

Dizzy was a Egg who went left to right, up and down and you solved puzzles: like the Bard in the tree. Even thinking about it brings my memories of being 10/11, sunny summers day.

Folk who played the C64 will remember the loading screen as well

The games, if you used the cassette, used to take 7/8 minutes to load (if lucky, or up to 20mins): then came the cartridges that cut that by half IIRC

Also, sad how commodore was dominating the market at one point and then boom, IBM/Dell and the rest zoomed by them

I was, and still am a massive fan of C64 games - the ones out in recent years, your Call of Duty's etc, hold no interest for me: back then it was games that had a start, middle and end and yeah, the best ones are always the simplest ones: like slots, lets not try and be too fancy, just make something enjoyable.

The only games that I have ever played during my younger days were either on arcade machines or desktop. Never even owned a Gameboy or Playstation! 😝

'Practise makes perfect'...'If you don't succeed, try and try again'...'If there's a will, there's a way'...some of the most famous phrases that we all know and have heard of.

One more attempt against 7 hard Russian enemies finally got me the 'zero losses' victory I thought would be impossible to achieve! And proof of truth in the above sayings too. 😉

Bubble Booble! Oh, maaaan! If the local arcade halls return my money one day I'll most probably have enough to buy one more apartment!

It was a cracking game, never got bored of it in 4 years or so of continuous play

Last Ninja was also a belter - arcades might have had it as well.

Jeez, mate, you are took me back to some of my sweetest days and memories! Thanks Big Time! ❤️

Dunno what it was like where you are but we used to even go to the 'Video Shop' (a la Blockbusters) where you'd pick up a video and then they had street fighter and Immortal (i was going to say romance) Kombat  beside it and spend a good few hours playing them.

They might even have had Frogger as well - we then would go to a full arcade to play Daytona i think and things like smash tv.

Yeah, yeah, it was totally identical 'setup' here in Bulgaria back then... It was usually a 'video shop' where you 'hire' video 'cassettes' with few to several 'hooks' around the shop. The hooks? Arcade games of course! And maaaan, we were 'biting' that hook like crazy!

I used to be at the shop whole day playing Arcade games when I got home from school, paying King of Fighters, Snow Bros, Puzzle Bobble, Bubble Bobble, Super Side Kicks 1, 2 ( Soccer game), Pac Man ( my favorite), Pinball - Use to clock this game for extra credits.

But I think my favourite game was "Mark of the Wolves" Oh where is Rock Howard now.

Sometimes I Jam Mame32 still on the PC

11th day in September of my avoiding play at all European casinos...hope to keep it for the full 30 days. 😜

In the meantime, this is the toughest challenge I had to face, even sleeping over it just to find the right and most suitable strategy...and I think I have found one that would make any win possible, as long as I can use my naval army! 😉

Today, I played a most incredible game on Red Alert using an insane strategy...abandoning my own base and setting up a new base within an active enemy base!!! Total madness! Kept getting killed within 2 minutes of landing on that enemy ground! BUT...one strategy is finally working (absolutely no cheats being used, ever)...and after hours of toil, sweat and brain storming. Have managed to set up my base and defense line...now working on how to kill off one enemy at a time...hahaha. 😝

Okaaaay, so I was fooled by those Russian 'dogs'...but after knowing that they were bears, it's my turn to have bear meat barbeque and bear skin rugs, hahaha. 😅

Same map, same 7 hard Russians, but a changed strategy...and voila! 😋
