  1. Wow, 10 years is a significant milestone, especially on the internet and in the online casino business! Many of the gaming sites and even some of the forums I frequented a decade ago have since shut down, so the fact that AskGamblers is still going strong is a great acheivement
  2. More often than not, I don't see the point of a blog from an online casino as it tends to just regurgitate content from the rest of the site and generally comes across as a purely commercial and impersonal endeavor i.e. the exact opposite of what a proper blog is meant to be.
  3. I've had a similar problem at a couple of online casinos, namely William Hill Casino Club and, more recently, Betat Casino. Both times I contacted a live chat rep asking for my account to be closed or locked and was asked to give a reason - stupidly (in hindsight) I responded that it was because results had not being going my way of late and I was tired of losing, something all gamblers have felt at one time or another. Usually the downbeat mood passes and we get over it, so I don't see how that one explanation alone is enough reason for a customer service agent to conclude I am asking for self-exclusion - which has far more serious implications than just deactivating login credentials - and enact that decision without my explicit knowledge and consent.
  4. All my May reviews: Betfair Betsafe BetVictor Bwin CashCasino777 CasinoKing EUCasino Everest Gamebookers Imperial InterCasino Ladbrokes PartyCasino PKRCasino SkyVegas Totesport Unibet VIPCasino WilliamHill Windows
  5. Strange - all of them posted fine at the time and I doublechecked like I always do that each was displayed on the site Anyway, I have resubmitted them and hope they don't get eaten again
  6. Monthly total: AllStar Begado Bet365 Betfred Casino.com CasinoTitan ClubGold HighNoon Mansion SlotsJungle P.S. The forum went down for maintenance just as I was first about to submit this list some hours ago but the reviews themselves were posted on the site by April's end.
  7. So far I've actually concentrated on sites I joined more recently; I probably won't be as detailed the further back I go... It also helps to keep all my casino correspondence so I can jog my memory when needed
  8. OK thanks for the confirmation I have already written a few reviews but want to reach a certain number before putting them online.
  9. Hmmm... I played one of these previously unknown software brands at a new site earlier this year and got the impression from one of the slots I played that it was greatly influenced by a similarly themed version on a better known platform. Now I see from another screenshot above that at least one other game has been even more blatantly ripped off from the same popular provider! While I will not specify which companies I'm referring to here, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out given that the copycat culprit hasn't even bothered to change the name of either slot
  10. I will definitely need it if I am to get a chance to post of another withdrawal here in the near future

    Blackjack

Oh I definitely agree with you on this point - certainly there is much greater potential to win big on slots, even with a very small stake I too have been seduced by this fact time and again, sometimes to great gain but often at a greater cost...

    Blackjack

Sorry to see you've had a bad run at slots and I hope the recent big win is the start of a turnaround However, to be honest, blackjack and slots are two entirely different beasts when it comes to gambling. After all, there is a reason why one game is often restricted from bonus play at most casinos, or contributes only at a much reduced rate, while the other is not only widely allowed but greatly encouraged. Blackjack has a much lower house edge and less variance than slots, which is why it was my first game of choice when I started out playing online casinos - always with a bonus, when BJ was still generally allowed everywhere. Nowadays I'm compelled to play slots more often, sometimes almost unwillingly, and while I've been sucked in by the occasional big win, I've also had some brutal streaks and bad losses. Yet you will rarely, if ever, see me complaining about prolonged bad luck on slots because, as far as I'm concerned, it comes with the territory. Now I don't want to imply that one can never lose big on blackjack or that lengthy bad streaks are not possible. However, statistically, they should generally be fewer and less severe than those encountered in slots. Yet, with the particular software I'm talking about, I am literally starting to wonder if my chances wouldn't be better playing slots instead... which shows just how horrendous my results have been, if even I can start entertaining such an outlandish idea
  13. If you're looking for a simple and uncomplicated card game, nothing beats Casino War. Just you versus the dealer, one card dealt to each, higher card wins. The only strategy involved relates to a tie between you and the dealer in the form of a separate sidebet - which you should never place - or 'going to war' by betting on an additional dealt hand - which you should always do rather than surrender, although you typically get paid for a win or tie on the raise only (with the original stake returned) and nothing for a loss. House edge (and variance) is higher than in blackjack but still better than slots, ranging from about 2% to 3% using optimal strategy as described and depending on the number of decks and house rules used by the casino.
  14. I have a question: is it OK to write reviews for casinos in the blacklist section? There is one in particular I have played at (a while back, to be fair) and am rather surprised to see there, although I suspect it might be based on the fact it was taken over one or two years ago by another casino group that I've sometimes seen discussed negatively (but still not to that bad of an extent).
  15. Thanks for the wecome ValDes and Luciana To be honest, I was in a position to cashout again from both places I lost the Ladbrokes winnings but I guess I pushed my luck too far...

    Blackjack

I've also been having an awful experience with blackjack that has lasted for many months now. The main culprit is not necessarily one site in particular but a certain brand of instant play software found on several of the major (non-US) sites. Throughout numerous sessions, most of them admittedly quite short andplayed with low funds, the one thing I can be sure of virtually every time is that I'll lose everything - usually sooner rather than later. While I'm used to long bad streaks on a specific site or particular platform, never before have I experienced this sinking feeling - and for this long - that the outcome is predetermined and I will never come out ahead when playing this particular blackjack game. I keep telling myself the situation can't last forever and has to eventually turn around but, countless weeks and losses later, that time has yet to arrive.
  17. I'm interested in writing some paid reviews but have an issue (that I've PMed Luciana about) I'd like settled before I get started.
  18. Last withdrawal was about three weeks ago when I managed to turn a free $5 bonus from Ladbrokes Casino's "On The House" promotion into $100 - which I then deposited and lost elsewhere.
