I am finally done with slots

I am finally done with slots forever.

lost 1,419.82 euros in just 90mins. So that's it for me I am done with slots for life.

It's over I had no control and kept raising and kept losing, bets as high as 12euro per spin its done.

AOTG -0.30e (only four 20c spins until the power jp went then I left)

then...

Man of Steel -225.72e (this slot was on my banned list but I kept playing it chasing the free spin feature but it never came, bets from 25c to 6.25e per spin

107 spins @0.25e -8.57e RTP 67.96%

141 spins @0.50 -28.70e RTP 59.29%

62 spins @1.25 -29.65e RTP 61.74%

177 spins @2.50 -211.30e RTP 52.25%

1 spin @6.25 +52.50e RTP 940%

Man of Steel total staked: 623.50e, RTP 63.80% <- shocking low. (bet sizes were changed around during the session)

(just 4 engine bonuses in those 488 spins, 50c bet returned 1.15, 50c bet returned 1.96, 50c bet returned 6.70, 6.25e bet returned 58.75)

note: prior to this MoS session from h.e.l.l, I had a YTD RTP on this slot of 89.36% for a total stake of 2384.25e. -253.63e 2254 spins (peak +214.68e spin #1267)
however after this horror session RTP dropped to 84.06% for total stake 3,007.75e and loss of -479.35e (2742 spins)

...

then went to Mighty Midas (was not supposed to play this slot ever again) and the horror show continued with bets between 3.20e and 12e per spin. losing 1,193.80e on it.

64 spins @3.20e -32.80e RTP 83.98% [-6e 2sp, -26.80e 62sp]

152 spins @4.00e -233.50e RTP 61.60% [-12e 3sp, -8e 4sp, -20.50e 6sp, -69.50e 28sp, -8e 2sp, -1.50e 1sp, -40e 10sp, -66e 94sp, -4.50e 3sp, -3.50e 1sp]

229 spins @8.00e -836e RTP 54.37% [-31e 5sp, +30e 9sp, -106e 16sp, -54e 8sp, -27e 56sp, -648e 135sp]

9 spins @12.00 -91.50e RTP 15.28% [-91.50e 9sp]

Mighty Midas total staked: 2,752.80e, RTP 56.63% <- shocking low. (bet sizes were changed around during the session)

(just 3 features in those 454 spins, 4e bet saphire returned 39e, 4e bet amber returned 1e, 8e ruby returned 132e)

note: prior to this midas session from h.e.l.l, I had a RTP on this slot of 100.47% for a total stake of 9,276e. +43.40e 4862 spins (peak +295.45e spin #1745)
however after this horror session RTP dropped to 90.44% for total stake 12,028.80e and loss of -1,150.40e (5316 spins)

previous 3 mighty midas sessions were -28.90e, staked 4,230.80e, {1881 spins}, RTP 99.32%..... +23.50e, staked 34.40e, {43 spins}, RTP 168.3%....... -190.90e, staked 3,932.80e, {1323 spins}, RTP 95.15%

Total staked on above 3 slots today was 3,377.10e , loss -1,419.82e, RTP 57.96%

I am done with slots. And all started because the Pink Panther major jackpot was won by someone else and I just couldn't stay away from trying out the other slots and making the mistake of even playing slots that I wasn't going to play again , i.e Man of Steel slot and Mighty Midas slot. But it's over now. Also once I started doing the 8e and 12e bets last month it was going to happen eventually where I would have another session where those bets would start up again and the big loss occur. It's over. All it takes is a session where you get about 60% RTP or less and the balances get destroyed like in my case.

at least it wasn't -230K eur like that super flip addict guy...

That's shocking news indeed my friend, but it's something that shouldn't be surprising or unexpected at all, but it is good news to my ears that you're calling it a day finally, and hopefully for every other days too. (Temptation to play again is one damn cold turkey to beat!)

I've been trying to quit too...since years ago...but the turkey always tasted damn good each time! Hahaha.  😝

Maybe one day soon...but for now, I'll just let my hatred for HTML5 keeps on boiling over, for that one impending exploding eruption to occur...most probably by or before December 2020, when flash would no longer be supported anywhere online.  😉

My play time has probably halved since this time last year, for a number of reasons. One of which is enjoyment. I just don’t enjoy it as much as I used to. Whether that’s the types of games they bring out now, the shift to HV beasts or whatever, I don’t know.

Like you i swore, after a 6k tilt session in 2 hours, never to come back. Obviously did but I imagine the next notion that comes upon me I might not bother.

It might have been harder to quit years ago when, tin foil hat, the games weren’t as brutal or there wasn’t an AI collecting out data to determine how to distribute winnings.

Oh man! Wanted to say 'Sorry to hear that' but hey, everything comes with a reason, you know. Maybe that was your day/session which was meant to deliver that impulse to your mind that would eventually result in you pulling off certain types of (all all) online gambling for good....

I've been there a few times before myself and as you can see even though my play time is now probably less than a quarter that it's used to be couple of years ago, slots are still my true love and to be honest, have some reaaaaaly hard time imagining me quitting those once and for all. Maybe NetEnt becoming total industry monopolist may solve my drama though. 🤣

Good luck my man! I remember posting about going cold turkey as I’m sure you know. I couldn’t do it. I did decrease the amount I have deposited greatly which is good but the turkey is still warm in my mind. Hopefully you will be able to quit like most of us have been trying to do.

It's been 24hrs and getting severe withdrawal symptoms (occasional thoughts of loading up a slot and doing crazy 20e or 40e spins), breaking up/stopping is never easy, taking a few days off is one thing but when you say that you are doing a permanent break is another, also have cut off the youtube slot video watching. Can't yet bring myself to delete all my slot win screenshots, will have to get around to doing that. Friday I will probably be getting free spins from a casino,  thought about covering the screen up, turn off sounds and click the spin button until the free spins end, converted to cash and not spend any own cash on further spins. Then cause I stop slot activities they will  hopefully stop giving me weekly free spins from next week thus no more lures.

One thing about those marketing guys...they never stop...they won't stop...even well after you've closed your account...or stopped gambling totally.

"Aww maaan...I'm only doing my job!" they would say... 😜

Remember when Kyle Reese spoke about the terminator... but let's change it to marketer.

"Listen, and understand. That marketer is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead broke."

On the contrary my dear Sharon, I would not really agree to coming back to AG to take the mind off gambling... 😜

Why? For one thing, looking at all those nice winning screenshots would definitely favour the demon in any punter! Hahaha. (DAMN! Just look at that super beautiful wonderful big win! Oh maaan, I can surely use that!... 😝)

When I quit playing slots eventually, I will quit AG too...unfortunately!

(The missing monthly screenshot contests has been taking its toll on me...bit by bit...and I'm appearing less and less in AG nowadays...if you haven't already notice! 😏)

Playing slots is somewhat of a footballers career; it's hard to see how it's sustainable past a certain time.

I'd be very surprised to see myself playing in 5 years; who knows what the industry is going to look like.

Definitely the last 2/3 years especially I've seen more folk just stop. Whether it's disenchantment, or whatever, I don't know.

Oh, come on, Afi-san... Don't be so mercantile 😛

What about good ,old-fashioned sympathy and help to others? For example, who would be able to help players in a trouble better then you, a guy with 25+ years experience with gambling, a guy who've seen literally everything when it comes to online casinos, a guy who's been fighting same demons and battles longer than anyone else I've ever known...

Simple truth, you belong here, with or without some paid races and contests! End of discussion! 😛 🤗

End of discussion...but hopefully not end of paid contests...my car cannot run on air or water! 🤣

If anyone needs THE MECHANIC, I'll be around to help out...if and when needed, hehehe.

You are part of the furniture now Afi! I'm sorry but you cannot get rid of us that easily and if you ever leave us I'm afriad I'll be on the first plane to Malaysia hunting you down! 🤣

On a serious note though - I understand that someone struggling with addiction should steer away from anything gambling related, but if Flatzem had no one else to turn to, then I just meant we would always be here if he did need that chat.

You Afi - you are going nowhere Mr.

I don't want to influence your decision in any way, just to make that clear ... but I just feel I have to point out, considering your bet sizes, it really doesn't seem so surprising to have lost 1400 in that session ... sure, you probably should have got a few more spins, a slightly higher RTP... but thats the nature of the games particular when you are doing relatively low numbers of spins of high value - your cranking the variance to the absolute max by doing that. Remember you could have a session tomorrow with ,000%s RTP too, so there has to be these equally poor and opposite sessions to allow those things to happen.

Sounds to me like you need a break to reset your brain back to being content with lower wagers... I feel like I might be heading in the same direction myself at the moment, but I ain't going NEAR to £12 a spin... jesus my balance would be wiped out in under 3 minutes :S

I can't do lower wagers anymore (even a slot with maxbet 25c e.g Cinerama would just tempt me to then play other slots with higher stakes to chase losses of the 25c slot) cause even when I'd start with lower wagers I would then start raising and raising in order to get a hit at higher bets to recoup the losses of those lower wagers (something I seen the slot streamers do which wipes out balances and further deposits when it goes wrong).  This can work for many session but then finally hit one of those sessions from he.ll where RTP is low and no big hits at higher stakes and then lose too much. Besides I'd much rather stop slotting entirely and focus on other areas, only slotting and video poker that I am getting rid off. (Not played video poker since last year July where I lost 497.5e in a 1867 hand session doing 2.5e bets of Jacks or Better, session RTP 89.34%) There's plenty of other gambling that doesn't involve such rapid doses of dopamine as slots/video poker. Good luck to anyone still slotting and remember to stay in control, don't chase losses, keep your bets low, don't go down the road of raising your bets and not being content with playing at lower stakes or chasing at higher stakes to recoup losses of lower stakes.
