Not Cool Ecopayz.. Not Cool

Recommended Posts

So after close to €20,000 in transactions through my ecopayz account and my singing their praises because of the ease of use being able to deposit with my visa debit card instantly, I logged in to make a deposit last night and was met with this..

I was never sent any notice and it's apparently so fresh it's still was not reflected in their TOS

When I inquired through "live" support (aka when I contacted their live support and they finally emailed me hours later) about the change, lack of notification and questioning why it would apply to a visadebit.. it's a bank card.. it draws directly from my bank and does not allow for cash advances or overdrafts.. The response was

"Thank you for contacting the ecoPayz Team!

We are changing some of our ecoPayz deposit options. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our services and provide as many different options as we can.

Currently as instant deposit options are Neosurf and ecoVoucher. For all your available options please visit the "Deposit" section of your ecoAccount.

Please feel free to contact us should you require any further assistance."

So the solution.. is for me to pay more fees to outside merchants for the ability to pay fees for use of their wallet...

While still the most viable payment option for me because of the fast cashouts from casinos, the ability to immediately withdraw winnings from my account with my ecopayz card and a separation between my bank statement and my "discressionary spending" , they are now a part of the very problem I started using them to solve..

I don't see how this in any way "improves their service" in fact it eliminates the very thing that separated them from the other e-wallets.. I could fund it instantly with my bank card, without leaving the house and use it for gaming..

I've never been a big fan of the quality of their customer support to begin with, but they're definitely off my Christmas card list now.

Yeah you right

Just logged in now and saw that the Eco card and Eco Virtual card is not available in my country of residence anymore, which means I am closing my account with them now.

I guess I will start doing direct transactions with my credit card from now on. First neteller, now Ecopayz, here I though they were the best.

I supposed a lot of my friends will also be closing their accounts.

They do not realize how much customers they will be losing, not sure why the change, but the system has been working fine for years for me at least.

Oh boy...all these is yet another big pain in the 's'...

Thankfully, I can still use my Neteller without any problems at all...and is still THE BEST ewallet for me ever.

I haven't tried Ecopayz as yet, but I certainly wouldn't want to now.  :p

Whatever you do, just keep it off you're main bank account or you'll be sweating profusely explaining to Mr Mortgage what a Videoslot is, or Who is Mr Superplay?

That's never a problem with me in fact...because my bank account simply cannot accept any outgoing payments to gambling sites. Can receive but cannot give out...good eh?! Hahaha.

Or maybe I should just keep my Neteller and get use to the fact of withdrawing via Bank transfer should I win big and wait those few days or maybe bank transfer withdrawals.

If you ask me mate...keep your Neteller account!  ^_^

Sooner or later, Neteller Mastercard may become available again for use...but just don't know when. I don't intend to use it anyway...not after that first ever disaster back in 2015 when a hacker stole thousands of my cash money!  <_< Luckily, Neteller got every dollar of it back for me, but once bitten, a million times shy!  :p

Is it only me who's feeling recently that the loop keeps tightening and tightening around the poor average online gambler's neck...

So many 'new' regulations and requirements towards supposedly player's 'protection' and yet, we have so many of these ending up just causing more headaches to the common folks rather than bringing any real pros in both short and long term perspective.  :fool:

Dunno if it's a mixture of

A. Certain Individuals in org's like the UKGC/CMA making to look as if they're proactive,

B. Same individuals never having bet in their life

C Cultural Pressure from groups, including the media, who believe gamblers to be degenerates who need molly cuddled

D. The whole concept of Big Govt, nebbing into peoples lives

Places like Skrill/Netteller have played a part in it as well - their attempts to show that they've 'cleaned house' may have come too late. Having said that, were HSBC not up to their eyes in Cartel dirty money a number of years ago.

Other than that i think it's not targeted at gamblers, per se - it's the way society is moving. A complete abdication of personal responsibility has created a bit of a vacuum. We've seen minimum alcohol pricing, sugar taxes, covering cigarette displays....rightly or wrongly, depending on whether you believe we're all brain dead lemmings lurching to our own demise, it's just a sign o the times.

Resist  :p

Before I got to your post this is exactly what I was thinking. Just can't believe how times are changing to how easy it was for us all 5-6 years ago. :(
