Feeling the wrath of the new UK regulations

Recommended Posts

So, up until now me and the other half haven't really had any issues when it comes to withdrawing under all the new regulations the UK have set. None of us play as much as we used to anymore due to other committments but still have been lucky to withdraw now and again.

Until now ... This is the other halfs withdrawal pending at LeoVegas - a casino none of us have ever had a problem with in the past. Now he is trying to withdraw and they've asked for a million things! Or at least it feels like, none of which are an issue getting really it's just the inconvenince of it all.

They now need:

1. Pictures of all bank cards  May impose an issue if some have expired or been updated

2. Proof of address

3. Pictures of bamk statements

This is on top of the original verifcation documents which have already gone through.  I just hope this doesn't result in a complaint

Ah the old expired bank cards...what's the point in that? They've processed payments back to it by now - bit late in the day.

The bank statements? Part of the SOW? Just a cautionary note - SOW should only be risk based. A lot of casinos will fly their flag under the banner of 'it's the regulations' but it's their interpretation of the regulations that they're applying. If i deposited 150 quid a year and they asked me for this under the guise of SOW i'd tell them to take a leap and close my account.

Only two have asked me for this - Leo Vegas was one. As context - I've deposited approximately 50k in 12 months there. Now, even at that value I don't think that's particularly Money Laundering material, but anyway.

Bank Statement or Payslip? I was given the option. They got my Payslips etc. Why? Some may not agree, but i think this is the least intrusive form - blank everything out and they're left with your name and amount. There's not much that can be misused with that. BS are different. Patterns of spend, other forms of expenditure. Nope.

LV took my PS - even though it was as redacted like a CIA document and all was honky dorey.

But the bigger questions is - is this AML or Responsible Gambling driving this?

I personally think it's the latter. Which is wrong.

Is this Source Of Wealth proofs ever going to stop those money launderers and criminals? No way!!!

They can produce false copies of any documents they need or want, so they won't get bogged down by all this rubbish SOW requirements - their money laundering activities must go on...it cannot ever stop!  :p

The only way to stop money laundering is for casinos to stop accepting big big deposits! Maybe limit it to up to $500 per day...or something like that...that would get those money launderers billowing smoke from their ears, nose and mouth!!! Hahaha.  :D

I'm surprised he hasn't been asked how he funds his casino deposit, but I'm guessing that's what the bank statement will be for since they didn't give an option of a wage slip.

Like I said none (apart from possible issued with old bank cards) of these are an issue to provide but Pinnit you are so right it is so intrusive!! Showing complete strangers how and when we spend our earnings

I'll keep you updated on this one guys but like I just said the other the other half I think we just can just start expecting a lot more of this now

If you think taking a selfie holding your ID is bad enough...I had just met one far more even worse!

One casino wanted me to take a selfie, holding up my ID or passport close to my face...AND...with my laptop in full view in the background...AND...with their notification email clearly visible on the laptop screen!!!

With my deep knowledge on photography...to get that kind of sharp and clear photo of myself in the foreground, AND with my laptop screen in the background, would need a NASA's satellite camera!

I immediately closed my account at that casino!!!  :p
