cocopop3011
Guys I could really do with some help and advice My laptop keeps telling me that from the 10th of April I it can no longer run Windows 10 as it cannot install the latest updates. It needs 6GB however I don't even have 1GB spare. The problem I have is I actually don't have anything downloaded that I can delete to even free up the space. Bearing in mind I've had this laptop under a year now. I don't have any big programs taking up the space it's already Windows 10 taking up all the memory. I have really important work saved on here that I simply cannot lose, so after the 10th of April what will happen? I won't be able to use my laptop anymore? I knew I should never have upgraded to 10 it's caused my nothing but problems. Fiekie247

Sharon Darling You posted this in the paid contest section - Which I assume we get paid for our services? :D I would need to see the error, can you post a screenshot? and If you need help fixing the issue, maybe we can delete some temp files on the machine, as well as it could be a virus that is eating up your space. Now you say your hard drive has 1Gb left, what size hard drive do you have? Because if you do not have anything installed on there and no big files, it could be a virus. If you trust me enough I can have a teamviewer session on your machine and have a look at the issue and maybe have a skype call while I speak to you while performing the troubleshooting. Check to see if you have any needed documents in that folder and delete it afterwards. Btw you can always disable the updates for win 10 and keep going. cocopop3011
When I go to uninstall programs it says eveything only uses 3GB anyway and that's everything I have installed which is just all the stuff the laptop came with anyway except a few things likes browser, VPN software and virus software etc. How do I check how much space MS10 is taking? Okay so memory is Ram - So your PC normally have anything between 4 - 8Gb of ram on standard machines. Gamers have 16 - 32Gb of ram. So Hard drive is what is used by windows 10 to install updates. Also under task manager, what laptop is it? Because factory fitted software is removable. Well I am just saying I can have a look remotely for you if you want. Afi4wins
Wait a minute!!! Your new laptop should have more than sufficient hard disk space! My old darling in red is coming to 4 years old now and it has a 900GB of hard disk space! A new laptop surely cannot have less than 500GB nowadays...as far as I know. Windows 10 doesn't take up that much of space anyway. My C Drive consumes only 58.8GB for Windows 10 plus other programs that I have installed. Impossible not to have sufficient space to upgrade to Windows 10...there must be something wrong with your laptop somewhere, my dear! I had gone through the long long procedure of updating to the latest Windows 10 (version 1705 or something)...it took me many attempts over many days until all the updates could be successfully installed. I kept getting 'updates couldn't be installed' error messages until I reconfigured my mobile broadband...then everything got installed successfully. Gave me lots of headaches initially, but I'm glad i got it all done by now. Anyway, if you don't get the latest updates installed, you can still use your current version of Windows 10...but the latest version has lots of new security updates...improvements against the current latest ransomware and whatnots...so I do recommend getting the latest updates! I can't Afi my latop keeps telling me my Windows 10 won't work after the 10th April unless I install updates but I can't install them. Eh? I find that really strange and odd! Your current version should work even if you choose not to get those latest updates. The only possible reason for this to happen is that your current version is NOT a full version - so you may need to get all the missing updates for that current version first. If you know which version of Windows 10 you are using, then you can visit Microsoft's website, find that version, and download the full version/updates. If hard disk is really your problem, then perhaps you need to transfer as much of your personal files into a 16GB or 32GB thumb drive first, to make more space in your drive. You can transfer them back later, if you have the space. (Edited) Anyway, I highly recommend you to download Advanced System Care version 11 (freeware). It will save you lots and lots of space by removing all junk files, clearing up your RAM, and fixing up all small errors. It can even download and install missing Windows updates automatically for you (current Windows version only)! Then go to the 'Tools' section, click on Smart Defrag, to fully defrag and prioritise the hard disk (choose the last option - fully prioritise). The standard Windows Defragment program isn't that effective! The latest full version of Windows 10 needs 47GB of hard disk space! Your HP Stream laptop only has 2GB RAM and 32GB of hard disk space...so it's impossible to use the latest Windows 10! Perhaps you need to go to the 'Settings' section and 'Reset to default settings' in order to use back your current Windows. cocopop3011

Afi4wins
I'm happy to go back to my other Windows if I'm honest, so I'll need to save all my work to an online drive first yes? Yes...it is better you save and transfer all your files first before resetting to the default Windows setting...although all personal files are not affected by the resetting, but mistakes can and do happen. Using a thumb drive would be the best solution...because all online cloud storage apps are not safe from privacy hacks at all!!! Well, maybe there's nothing to hide in your case...not like Kim Kardashian and others who keeps very hot personal stuff...hahaha. cocopop3011

So if I just rest my laptop to factory settings it will go back to my original Windows, yes? I might wait until the 10th and then just see what happens and then if I have to wipe then do it then. What do you think? I've been considering getting a Mac for so long now since my daughter already has one but I just don't know if it will work for all my working needs with Flash. Yep...if that Windows came with the laptop, then it will reset back to its original settings. You can wait until the 10th to see if the Windows would actually stop working. If it does, then use the reset facility. If not, no need to. (Edited) I don't know much about Mac though...but I guess you may get some incompatibility issues. cocopop3011

Afi4wins
By the way dear, have you tried that Advanced System Care version 11.3 yet? It only takes 28.31 MB disk space, but it can clean up your laptop and clear up your RAM to make it run good as new! Under the tools section, you need to download Smart Defrag too (11.9 MB) to rearrange all your disk space!
pinnit2015
Depends what you use it for - i use Mac's almost exclusively, no issues with flash (which is going anyway sure), i run microsoft office which is identical to the PC version etc etc I've had my mac for 5 years and it's as fast now as it was back then - if it was a PC it would have ground to a halt - the benefits of sandboxing cocopop3011

Afi4wins
No I havent yet I always worry about downloading things on here, is it easy to use? Yes, it's as easy as ABC...download it, it will then start up automatically...make sure you select all the items...then simply click on SCAN...and see what it does! In your case, I would expect certain items may take several minutes just to scan it...so don't worry if it looks like it's not moving or working...just let it run for however minutes it may take for the first time! Once that is done, download the Smart Defrag next (see in Tools section) and do a full prioritized defragmentation (the last opton). It will defrag first, then rearrange all your files into priority segments for the fastest loading up upon rebooting! I do these 2 things almost everyday!
