cocopop3011
[Posting on behalf of my partner] So...He's recently made a withdrawal and it's probably been over a year now since he's withdrew there so he deposited using a new card. Once he requested a withdrawal BETAT then requested that he verify the two other, old, cards he had on his account, even the one he's never used to deposit. The problem here is that he no longer has those cards, both are old cards which have been replaced. Anyway, I think he's managed to finally overcome that obstacle as BETAT finally got their head around the fact he doesn't have the cards!! Now he's having an issue with his current card. The picture he sent they wouldn't accept because he didn't cover the middle numbers of the card! So I've resent the picture for him and we're awaiting the next reply. My main point in posting this though is this is not the first time we've experienced problems with old cards! I just don't know why some casinos are persistent in verifying cards that don't even exist any more. Anyone else had any similar problems? pinnit2015
Problem with casinos is that they all deal with KYC checks differently as there's no standard 'rules' across online casinos. They want the cards etc to verify that you're the beneficial owner of the account. However, i do wonder why asking for it years down the line helps to meet the anti money laundering regulations What the UKGC should do is insist these checks are carried out at an earlier stage or, prohibit further deposits after the first one. That would stop you depositing and depositing, getting rid of the card and then getting told they can't process the withdrawal. What i've heard people need is a letter from the bank detailing that you were the owner of the card etc. All going to get worse with the new enhanced due diligence of the new AML regulations. It should all be risk based and proportionate but it probably won't be
pinnit2015
However...BETAT have probably the best customer service support out there so they'll be doing all they can in line with the regulations

Banks don't like doing it and you have to explain why you want the letter and I think it's quite private, certainly not something I or my partner want to share in the middle of a bank! Anyway, haven't had a reply yet, I'll keep everyone posted. We're not entirely worried since we're dealing with a reputable brand, I guess I just didn't expect these to be so picky. Account has been verified for years!

I just don't know why some casinos are persistent in verifying cards that don't even exist any more. Anyone else had any similar problems? Okay, let me share my two cents... So, once your partner used a credit/debit card for depositing at the aforementioned casino it means that card must be verified at a later stage. The fact that there wasn't such verification earlier is most probably due to the fact there wasn't a requested withdrawal until this moment. Wish I could say such payment method verification is due to AML requirements or various regulatory policies only, but the reality is a bit different and a quick look across AGCCS section reveals a different picture and namely, lots of online casinos would use that as a convenient excuse to drag their feet when it comes to withdrawals, hoping player would lost temper, reverse, start playing again and lose. Not saying this is the case with BetAT, on the contrary, I believe the issue will be fixed any time soon and you could start wondering who to spend your partner's withdrawal. cocopop3011
