Skrill Update

Recommended Posts

Hi mateys

I recently found out that skrill has been updated and therefore all customers need to verify their account once more. I never received any email from them regarding account verification.

About 2 weeks ago, when I logged in to my skrill account I got a message on the main page that I need to verify my account, I thought, this might be an error and I ignored the message. Two days later, I logged in, the message didn't appear and checked my account, completly verified. Good, they have fixed the error. Yesterday, when I logged in, there it is again, the account verification message. I contacted Skrill about this and told them that my account was already verified years ago. Today I got a response from Skrill, saying that my account was never verified.

I find this very strange and responded their email by saying that I've been a bronze member at least 4 times, I have Skrill prepaid card, it's a proof of my home address. I think it's very odd they saying that my account was never verified. This issue makes me doubt about them. When I doubt, I won't do it.

Anyone else has the same experience with Skrill?

I haven't had a similar problem to this before however I have had my fair share of issues with Skrill in the past. When money went missing from my account they handled it terribly and they have one of the worst customer support teams I've experienced. Yes I eventually got the money back months later however I will NEVER think of Skrill the same again.

I use them only on a needs-must basis.

Years ago my partner had issues with verifying with them. Then he received a debt later saying he owed them money as deposits he had made at a casino had cleared from his account but they money wasn't there to pay them!!! He also doesn't use them any more.

Hey Lio mate,

Both Skrill and Neteller integrated additional verification requirements over the last few months and I'm afraid you must comply with these. Guess that's a response to the vast number of hijacked accounts reports back in last 2016 and early 2017, so IMO the more security measures they have set in place the better for their customers own protection and safety. ;)

The additional verification takes a few minutes though, literally. You just need to have your ID or driver licence at hand and camera of course. You could also download the relevant app and do all the above on your phone.

I've just checked Leo and actually I also have the same message. I have to also verify again! However it says I have to verify to raise my account limits not for extra security!

Click verify and it says already verify!!! Which means I now have to contact support. Exactly why I don't like Skrill.

Their customer service is beyond poor. I had issues getting money out and trying to get an answer as why i couldn't withdraw took a month to resolve.

I no longer use e wallets - bonus bans on their use, coupled with fact that it's another company between you withdrawing and hitting your bank accounts, creates a risk of more issues.

I just deposit via another current account i have these days

Thank you all for your replies :)

I received an email from Skrill today and this one gave me more useful info regarding this issue. ValDes was right (as always).

:good:

Well yes, I knew what Valdes said would be right but whenever something changes with Skrill and you have to contact support I just know it's going to cause bother.

My card was declined yesterday even though the account now says verified so now I yet again have to waste my time with their support agents.

It isn't very often I speak negatively about a company but these guys really know how to push my buttons!

I use my neteller account all the time but have not once been asked to verify my account for a 2nd time. However I have 2 step authentication enabled though.

Hmmm...you don't have that message in your account?

Maybe that 2-step authentication was good enough...I have not done that yet either...so maybe I need to do either one of the 2 steps.

I don't have the verification message in my account any more but there seems to be some restriction on my card I've yet to contact support.

What kind of restriction are they? Cannot deposit or can only deposit small amounts at a time? Or some other restriction?

Not sure I tried using it yesterday, or the day before can't remember which day now and it was declined. Both contactless and pin and there was funds in my account to clear the transaction. So I went to a cash point to try it and was able to withdraw money fine.

It could have been an issue with the company I was using the card at I'm not entirely sure to be honest. But the verification message I had said there could be some disruption to my card if I didn't re-verify and since it wouldn't actually let me re-verify as I was already verified I thought the problem I had might have been to do with that.

Hence the reason why I don't want to contact support! A confusing situation - one that support will only confuse matters even more no doubt.

Sorry for my optimism guys it's just hard for me to trust Skrill again.

Well, I would prefer NOT to use Skrill if possible...but Neteller certainly isn't making things easier for me.  :(

If Neteller wasn't an option for you any more Afi would that be a major issue for you? Me not using Skrill really makes no difference when it comes to depositing in fact I'd never go back to depositing through Skrill again.

If Neteller is no longer an option for me, then I would have to depend entirely on Skrill...like it or not.  :(

If both become deceased...then I would have to play only at Asian casinos! Other e-wallets are not really an option for me, unless AG can pay reviews money into them.

Whatever it is, I am not going to deposit any money into any e-wallet account by wire bank transfer. My last deposit into Neteller was 4 years ago!  :p

Well...I'm not anybody important now anyway...not like back in 2014...so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't give a hoot to me nowadays...hahaha.  :D

Anyway...if Neteller and Skrill should become useless to me...then maybe it's time for me to quit slotting completely...after getting fed up with all the Asian casinos in due time of course! Hahaha.  :p

  • 1 month later...

Casino Hero told me Norwegian goverment has made it imposible for me to take out 400€ winnings and that I must create a Skirll og Netteller accout to get the moeny out. It was not possible to add dunds for gambling at Skrill and I tried Neteller without getting that far. I got back to Casino Heroes and they told me to vote differently in the next election. Using two days to find this out I finaly played the 400 € and desides never to deposit at this casino again. They should freze the funds and dont confuse the players from Norway.
