[Edited:] Free games versus real play

Soooo......why is it that when I'm in practice play at a casino that has free play I win, usually pretty big. And then when I deposit money and play for real, I don't win ***** and my balance just keeps going down and down and very seldom up? Is this just a way to draw people in to deposit? Like for instance....this past week I have been playing free games at a certain well respected casino to see which ones I like. Made my decisions and made a deposit. Let the money sit for a couple days while I played some free games. Logged in to play for real and BOOM!!! Money was gone in about 10 minutes. Then I logged out and started the free games again and BOOM!!! was winning left and right! It also seemed like the free games versus the real ones were different speeds.

The only casinos that I win at are the ones that I have to beg or file a complaint with to get what's coming to me. I am getting quite disappointed with this online gambling scene.

Hi there and welcome to AskGamblers.

I'm afraid the title of your topic was completely unacceptable and it has been changed accordingly. Make sure to be careful with using the word 'scam', especially if you don'r have rock solid proof to show.

Also, feel free to do a quick search before starting a new topic. If you had done it you would most probably had already found that this subject has been discussed really a lot on the forum and there are lots of players sharing both opinions.

This is a question we have covered in the forum so many times and one that will always, always cause speculation!

IMO you should only use free play to check out the game, get to see what the features are like etc. Don't play in free mode and then deposit and play purely on the basis that you won in free play because I can guarantee you it will never work out the same

There are some rigged demo mode games and they are only playable for a few spins and ofcourse they were showing the potential big wins but don't forget that advertisements are ment to lure the customers wheter it's about online gaming or a tube tooth paste.

Free Play mode is only for PRACTICE!

Purpose: to find out what the game is all about, to find out what the game can offer, and to find out how entertaining the game can be, or otherwise.

Never assume that any game can be easily won on, regardless of how easy it may seem to be in the Fun or Free Play mode!

Free Play mode is also meant for players to play for fun when they can't play with real money, to spend away the time and to kill the boredom!  :D

We actually had a good source tell us that the same RNG is used for both free play and real (UK) however it's a subject that will always cause speculation and one we can never have 100% proof of.

Yes, it is true that the same RNG may be in use for both the real money play and the fun money play...BUT...

the free play mode uses a DIFFERENT SET OF REELS, not the same set of reels as for the real money play!!!

I've had a couple of casino staff leaked this out to me, inadvertently of course, and without intention, but I got what I wanted to hear! :D

Oh okay I didn't realise that! And I'm not entirely sure what it means (you know this kind of stuff goes over my head) but of course I trust your word  :D

What 'different set of reels' mean is that the symbols on each reel are not the same in quantity! For example, the real money reels may have 1 Wild symbol on each reel, for example, okay...  :D ...but the fun mode reels may have more Wild symbols, and probably more of the high symbols too, making bigger wins come more easily! Hence, winning in the fun mode is always easier!

But I don't want to go into this 'reels' argument again....because not all games use 'reels' nowadays.

Ahh okay I gathered that's what you meant!

Argument again? Has there been an argument about this in the forum? If so I missed it   :p

Well, let's just say that you either have read it and forgotten about it, or have missed reading about it, but it doesn't matter.  ^_^

It was all about whether what you see on the screen, those spinning reels, are really spinning or not, which they aren't! They are merely simulations. Sounds familiar to you now?  ;)

Nope!! My god I really didn't realise my memory was so bad. I really don't remember this complete 'baby brain' sorry Afi. But it doesn't matter anyway because I understand what you mean now.
