Something doesn't seem right ..

Hi, firstly - apologies if this post is in the wrong place.

 

I'm just after opinions/clarification on a casinos t&c's

 

I have been playing on Swanky Bingo (cozygames) for a week or so now. After depositing around £200, from slot winnings my balance now rests at £1000. As the casino doesn't allow me action a withdrawal until KYC info verified, and subsequently as they only allow a max of £300 per week, I found myself tempted to gamble further - when in reality I was happy with the amount I had won and wanted to withdraw.

 

I placed deposit (monthly) and loss (daily) limits on my account to ensure this wouldn't happen.

 

Cozygames have a number of sister casinos that provide the same experience as Swanky, just different branding.

 

As I was starting to worry I would open accounts on these sister sites, I contacted Swanky via Live Chat to discuss Self Exclusion.

 

I started the Live Chat with saying I was not sure at this time if I wanted to Self Exclude, I don't believe I currently have a problem as such, and I mentioned I had heard horror stories of winnings being confiscated as soon as a customer/player self excludes.

 

The Live Chat advisor put me on to the accounts team and they said 'If you were to self exclude due to gambling, your account balance would be reset to zero'. I queried this and they confirmed they would take the money - it would no longer be mine.

 

This doesn't seem right? .. I have never discussed any potential gambling issues with Swanky, nor self excluded from them or any of their sister sites.

 

I have deposited and won - and they say if I were to self exclude I would not be entitled to my winnings or my original deposits?

 

Any help would be apprechiated - Cheers, Kev

First of all, a £300 a week withdrawal limit  :huh:  That's harsh and ridiculous

 

There are indeed plenty of horror stories relating to self-exclusion - do you feel you are at that stage where you need this control?

 

My best advise would be to withdraw your winnings, send your documents in as soon as you can and keep yourself busy if you think you're going to reverse. Have you asked if they do can do manual flushing?

Do not self exclude from any casino what soever. A lot of casinos belong to groups and you will surely get into withdrawal problems in the future. In reality the chances of winning more are very slim. Believe me I know this after countless reversals and thousands of euros lost due to greed and stupidity. If the casino has a cool off option use it or manual flushing. If not get some friend who you trust to change your password in the casino and your email password and not tell you what it is until you get your winnings. Either way protect the money you've won and don't reverse in. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi there Kev and welcome to AskGamblers. 

 

There is no way a legal and duly licensed casino to literally 'steal' form you the money which which you won before requesting self exclusion. Simply no way, it's that simple actually. 

 

Not sure about the whole situation since you didn't gave us the whole chat transcription, but in case you have a copy and you are sure the relevant casino team advised what you mentioned above, you'd better report that to the United Kingdom Gambling Commission immediately as such practices are totally contrary to any decent Responsible Gaming standards and policies.
