    Land Based vs Online

    I have recently gone back and forth a lot between land based and online gambling. What I have found is that overall I prefer online for an ongoing long term hobby. Land based is definitely fun for an occasionally run, but in my personal experience I tend to loose a lot more due to....totally loosing control (spending, time, logic, sanity, etc.). When online, I am in a much better position to manage the cost, the losses or wins, as well as walking away. It is so much easier to close my computer then it is to pack up and walk out of a casino. 

     

    Fortunately I have not lost much online, but also I haven't won much. This is a balance I am really comfortable with, since I really enjoy the online games (great visuals, sound affect, and totally engaging). I have seen huge wins by others, so I know it can be done. I have had some good wins, but usually spend it back down to break even or less. 

     

    The selection at a land based casino is much more limited, in terms of available slots. Online there is so much available. Land based gaming environments can be fun, but then you have to go there, park, endure smoke if you don't happen to enjoy that, and other distractions (some good and some not so much). Online you control your environment, and I personally find it a lot more fun than watching TV :)

     

    However in the universe of online casinos, I have found it very helpful to have the sidebar listing other players wins in real time (or close to it). This gives me hope when I am down, or convinces me to run depending on how others seem to be doing. Of course you don't know what they are betting, but you can get a general idea if hot streaks are happening, or not. 

     

    I have won a lot more in land based casinos, several $2000+ euro progressives, nothing huge but enough to make it VERY FUN. However I have also lost control and lost so much more in land based casinos. One in particular, I lost around 10,000 Euro in a few weeks on slots. 

     

    It is also great that if something goes wrong in the online gambling world, there is recourse, such as filing a complaint with this website. 

     

    I just wanted to share my perspective on the differences, and as a long term gambling junkie, who is relatively new to online, I find it overall to be a heck of a lot better in so many ways.

    Well mate, finally...welcome to the Club of Online Gamblers!  :hi:

     

    Longtime gamblers have gone through the same thing as what you have, myself included. I'd be damn embarrassed to talk about my losses in land based casinos, but I've done a lot better with online ones. There can be no comparisons, and no optional choices too. Online is here to stay for me! Land base ones are a thing of my past.  :D

    This is true, I understand you mate and you're not the only one here.

    I studied the psychology about this and I found out that we were naturally talented when we're talking about cognition biases. Playing and winning is rewarding but playing and losing is reinforcing for we know that we can revoke that loses so we end up loosing more for our uncontrolled betting.

    Speaking of the land based there are many factors why we end up losing everything in our pocket and the first reason is the people around us wasting. Land based casinos are hard to identify. They're not like the online casinos that is recognizable by their quality and as I said you can have your personal space playing you will have privacy alone. 

    This is the future of playing casinos, and for me they're convenient, supportive, a privilege for players, not regretting and easy to manage. In experience, they're the same of course meeting a real people compared to an interactive interaction online. Just the rule, if you want leisure and you can manage it or you will have a buddy who can play with you the best option is the land based casino and choose the online if you want to discipline more this includes the gambling forums.  ;)

    As much as I hate to admit it after positing the above, I decided (once again to my demise) to visit a few land based casinos. Just a spontaneous decision, had some time, and decided to jump into the trenches to battle it out against the odds. 

     

    Outcome....Lost around 2,000 euro in one night and didn't have much fun doing it. The food was good, the service friendly, other than that, it was a downhill spiral from beginning to end. I was actually down quite a bit more and was fighting to get back to where I started. Some nice rebound wins left me at 2k euro down and in the end at around 3am I had to pull the plug, and run before things got even more ugly. 

     

    When will I ever learn LOL

    I sure wish I could play NetEnt, tried many of their games on practice sessions a few days ago and they are AWESOME! Really bummed out to be in the wrong country for them.

    Great point about money afi4wins. I may have money to play but not money to loose :)

     

    On the above bonus CoCo I am at 68% and 500 mBTC. Long ways to go but getting closer. The final stretch is perhaps hardest and most painful. All it takes is one loosing play though and it's all gone.

     

    dragons coin and diamond monkey destroyed me (amatic).

     

    Luckily Twerk (endorphina) was kind, as was isoftbet's Kawaii kitty.

    This is true, but not on every occasion. Self control is a training even if you're rich or poor or whatever your desire is your freewill. If money is evil in every single way of occasion I think we're already nonexistent end of the world maybe. Also, if it's true in every aspect I think the "SOS I'm addicted to gambling" of Askgamblers is not useful but it's useful in a way that will help players to aid their desire to loose more money. It's about self control even if it's hard, you will know that you can do it and everyday there's a little change so as an accumulation this will become a huge step towards self control. I belive that we must not reason the external factors because the change that we want is within us just the happiness within. I want to motivate you mate for this cause I learned from my experience and this is just an opinion of mine. I hope that it helps you.

    Well, okay then...I admit...I'm not a 9 to 5 employee...and I don't have to do much work either...

    In my opinion Online Casinos makes a better choice then Land-based casinos. 

     
    It's comfortable playing from your favorite sofa.
