Blackjax Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago On the 24th of May we are going to have our new Premier league champions and it's going to be Arsenal or Manchester City. Currently Arsenal are sitting on top with 79 points as they have won 24 matches, drawn 7 and lost 5. Second are Manchester City with 77 points. City have 23 wins, 8 draws and 5 losses. Arsenal and Manchester have been neck and neck for most of the season but the former was slightly ahead up until April when the two sides met which resulted in a loss for Arsenal. Manchester City were then looking as favourites but then two weeks later Everton held them for a 3-3 draw. Now both the teams have two games left and Arsenal are looking favourites to win. Scenarios- for Arsenal Two wins in their next two games will guarantee the championship for Arsenal. These matches are against two weaker teams- Burnley(#19) and Crystal palace(#15). Even if they draw one game apart from a win in the other they will still be crowned as champions. If Arsenal loses even one of the remaining two matches they would still be in contention for the title. Scenarios- for Manchester City Manchester needs to win both their remaining matches for a chance to win the Premier league title and even if Arsenal loses one and City wins their two games things might not be as simple as then it all comes down to numbers as both the teams would be on equal number of wins. What happens if both teams finish on equal wins? In that case the team with most points will win. You get 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. What will happen if two teams have equal points? In that case Goal Difference comes into play. The team with the bigger goal difference will win. But just in case if the goal difference is same too then the team that scored the most number of goals in the league wins. If both the teams are equal on that too then the championship will be decided by head to head results and in that case Manchester City will be crowned Champions as Arsenal and Manchester City played twice with one game ending in a draw and Manchester City winning the other. cocopop3011 1 Quote
Blackjax Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Arsenal vs Burnley starts in 30 minutes. If Arsenal wins this then it's going to be almost impossible for Man City to win the EPL title. Quote

Fiekie247 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Well I am glad the gunners won last nights match. That goal was inevitable, given how much pressure they put on Burley. Burley was honestly playing defensive all the time. Now we just need win to take the league. Arsenal used to have a bigger goal difference but I think the last matches of Man City they scored decent amount of goals to get squared. Otherwise if Arsenal draws against Crystal Palace, then we could lose the league. So they need to win. City has bournemouth and aston Villa which are challenging teams, especially Bournemouth, so they need to bring their A game. Villa currently holding 4th positon, they started very strong but the last few games their energy is gone. It will be history if Arsenal wins. Arteta Arsenal left 10 years ago, and he would be making history taking the league 10 years later as their Manager. So lets see how the weekend unfolds. And then I am excited for the final with Arsenal against PSG. City took the FA cup already. Blackjax 1 Quote

City plays Bournemouth tonight and if they draw or lose this game it's over for them. Bournemouth will come all guns blazing as they need to win for a guaranteed 6th place finish for the season. The gunners will also be watching this game. Quote
