Awena
Hi,I definitely want to share more of this amazing news and going on! Now, for the first time, I will say more about poker and I am glad, it is about the news and winners! Mike Gorodinsky poker pro made a history by joining elite club of $50,000 POKER PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP winners. He is amongst 84 of the world's best players and this is his second career gold bracelet and amount of $1,270,086.. Top 12 receive the prize pool of $4,032,000 starting from $87,010.. Gorodinsky finally faced Jean Robert Bellande in quite hard duel which lasted about three and a half hours. Gorodinsky had about 7,500,000 in chips against his opponent stack of 5,000,000. Pot-Limit Omaha variation was played in the last hand. As Bellande decided to put all chips in,after a while,Gorodinsky won his second WSOP title. On the other hand, Bellande was paid $784,828. This year, two new variations are added to the tournament Badugi and No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw. Congrats to all, including rest of 10 winners! stars_cream, Luciana, ValDes and 1 other
stars_cream
I read about it yesterday. Mike Gorodinsky is running hot in the 2015 WSOP. He has made five cashes, has reached 4 final tables and finished three times in top3. He is ranked 6th for the player of the year award. Mike Gorodinsky was born in Saint Petersburg but i think he lives in the USA as he plays under the USAs flag. The $50,000 Poker PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP in one of the most difficult tournament in WSOP because despite the small field (this year had 84 players) the players have to be good in most of the Poker varieties since the poker game changes every time the blinds rise. It is also very expensive too. Btw Awena i dont think he is amongst 84 of the world's best players, but he was the 1st of the 84 players from this tournament for sure Awena

Adebisi213
I love poker. Been playing the game at least 8 years now, both online and in Brick and mortar casinos. I used to follow tv shows back in the day like Poker After Dark and all that, also WSOP. But last few years I haven't really paid any attention to those televised events. Maybe because they don't show em as much as they used to in the past. Or maybe the so called "poker boom" is over. I'm sure poker sites don't have as much members as before the USA black friday situation.

Many poker players will agree that online poker and poker generally is not like it used to be, not only in the US. Do you know the reason? stars_cream
Many poker players will agree that online poker and poker generally is not like it used to be, not only in the US. Do you know the reason? Because the USA players are restricted from online Poker.
Luciana
Yes I know, but I was speaking that poker players in general, share the opinion that poker is not as it used to be, so I'm wondering why. What changed?
Adebisi213
Lol Luciana! It's still the same game with a deck of 52 cards Not sure where those sentiments would come from, maybe because the prize money in most online poker tourneys isn't as big as they once were. A logical result of the declining players pool after US players got restricted from playing. However, sites like Pokerstars still have tons of players every day with plenty of money to be shared. stars_cream and Luciana
stars_cream
Yes I know, but I was speaking that poker players in general, share the opinion that poker is not as it used to be, so I'm wondering why. What changed? Well for live Poker i do not think that many things have changed. Although the way the game was played was more aggresive over the years, it has started to be conservative again the last couple of years. You can take for example the numbers of participants in WSOP Main Event which is stable to around 7000 players per year. As for online Poker many things happened last years in online Poker Community that had serius affects to the game if you are a professio0nal poker player.Black Friday which resulted to USA players being restricted and many poker pros having their money frozen at full tilt accounts. This affected the player pools being severe reduced so less earnings for the players and the poker industry. Also the game is more difficult than ever as there are many good players at all stakes and is difficult to crash it and have good earnings from grinding. Of coures for many people is still beatable but they cannot have the same winnings results as for example 5 years ago.\ Finally many poker pros did not like the fact that Pokerstars was bought from Amaya Gaming Group Inc and from the start the new buyers of Pokerstars showed that they only care for profit and not for poker players. They made many awful changes from rising the rake , to reducing the guaranteed prize of tournaments, introducing poker varieties of tournaments which are more based to luck than skill and finally casino games. Many Poker pros have left Pokerstars and went to lesser known poker platforms. I except in the years coming we will see the birth of a new poker platform which will succeed in braking the Amayastars monopoly. Of course if you are a recreational player you wont care much of the above and you will continue having fun with poker. it is a great game. Luciana
Thanks for clarifications guys As far as I know, situation is not very encouraging to open poker affiliates now or even poker platforms. Especially affiliates, because somebody will say - it would be waste of time. Much effort to be put in and much less in return (mostly earnings of course). Poker Stars is now launching casino. Is it going to be powered by Amaya games? (if we're talking about the same Amaya-Chartwell)

They have many software providers like Leander, NYX and lately NetEnt slots. Of course they dont have all NetEnt slots but they keep adding them. I believe the same would be with Pokerstars. I see they advertise their casino at the website so maybe they have started operating their casino. Luciana
