Do you speak to live chat before depositing?

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

Sorry ive been absent a lot recently I am actually busy with some AG work at the moment, I promise to be back and I do keep an eye on all your threads.

I just wanted to share something with you guys and get your opinions on something.

For all of you who know me here you will already know this but for those who don't, I openly admit that I am a very lazy gambler. I'd like to think I have experience but I really do slack in some areas. I very rarely read terms and conditions properly, I never check pay tables, RTP and sometimes even security.

BUT I will always have a conversation with Live Chat before making a deposit at a NEW casino. For me Live Chat really sells the casino. I need to be able to speak to them in clear English with hardly any barriers. How they are able to communicate and understand me is really important as to whether or not I would make my deposit. I'm the kind of player who likes to know what is happening at every stage. I will ask questions about wagering, what happens after I deposit, game contributions, withdrawals, documents...basically everything I need to know. I also like to speak to them again as soon as I make a withdrawal (if I make one). Before I deposit I have to make sure that myself and the live chat team have a clear understanding.

Don't get me wrong, there have been times I have still deposited when I've not been happy with live chat but I'm getting now that this is of utmost importance to me.

I just wondered if there was anyone else who is like this? Or if not, what are your most important things you look for before making your first deposit at a casino?

Hi cocopop3011, usually when I make my first deposit in some casino, I have already collected the most of information I could need, but sometimes I try chat support if I think there is a gap on terms or just to test how responsive they are. About reliability and things like that, I like more comments and reviews from askgamblers and other sites rather than information casino's staff could give me.

Ah, I also believe so many of terms of casinos are written so extensive in order to discourage players to reading them  , I love when they are index-linked, thus I can go to my points.

Totally agree with Sharon! Live chat is definitely what could 'sell' an online casino rather successfully. Or to to cause some serious damage over the casino reputation respectively...

Personally, I always contact the live chat facility for any casino I intend to join PRIOR registering and try to test them as much as possible with various questions covering all kind of info, being it financial matters, license info, games info, etc. If they fail to provide with the expected quality of service, then farewell from Guru. :)

Interesting thoughts :) A lazy gambler, hahaha, Sharon, I can join your club definitely :D

I contact live chat, only when I really need some info. Most common examples are: why my free spins from welcome package are not credited yet, why my account is locked, where am I with wagering requirement progress and what should I do now when I'm able to withdraw :D

I adore when casinos have simple steps, bonus code and field for it, so I don't have to wait for chat agents :)

Great topic Coco, I do speak with live chat,, ooohhh Yes!

As I dont have enough memory on my laptop I am forced to uninstal many casinos, then I forget if I am registered or not at some new casino, so first thing to check is if i am already registered.

The last deposit I did was at Fly Casino and I was very surprised I had double account and I was able to withdraw,, live support said,, you are good to go,but I wasnt taking any bonuses.

I like to check wager also.

Great post! :) I almost always contact the live chat first, as you said before, it makes the first impression and if it's bad / the support is in bad english or doesn't exist at all,  it makes the opportunity for me to deposit there smaller. But today for example, I wanted to play at Osiris casino cause I saw they have free spins on sign ups. I was a registered member there but hadn't claimed any bonus or made a deposit. After a conversation with chat, I didn't get 15 free spins but 5€ instead, so live chat sometimes can give exclusive deals :)

And if a casino has only email support, there has to be something very special in them to make me want to play there. And correct me if I'm wrong but I think the best online casinos have to have a live support, I think it's a MUST.

Yes Blondie I agree it is must for online casino to have live support but what I can say, it is better instant and professional email support then bad live support that we are facing sometimes.

Sure, I agree to that! I have seen live supports that can only say " yes, no, not sure" so if someone has bad live support, email is better.

Excellent point from both of you! Have nothing to add. :good:

I always do my research when signing up at a new casino. But having a chat with the customer service representative isn't necessarily a must for me. Only when I require additional information about a bonus or WR, then I might proceed to actually contact them.

Other than that I just continue playing until I actually need something.

How about reasons to NOT speak to live chat? It might sound a bit weird, but don't you guys hate it when the rep actually tries to sell you something without you asking for it? Like trying to force a deposit bonus through your throat. I really can't stand that type of behaviour when the question has nothing to do with a deposit. Especially when it's a weak offer with WR that are ridiculously high.

Oh, man! You should really see some of my chat transcription held in situations like the ones you mentioned! :D

Must admit that sometimes using casino live chat makes me feel so pissed off that I deeply regret for opening it afterwards. Cause it is really bad for a modern online casino to lack a Live Chat Facility, but it is even worse when there is such , but it is soooo damn slow on responses or worse - inefficient and poorly trained. :(

And that's where you hit the nail on the head @ inefficient and poorly trained. There are still too many casinos around that outsource their customer support as if its a less important detail. This often leads to misunderstandings and sometimes they don't even know what they're talking about lol.

Telling a customer a bonus with extremely high WR is easily beatable or RTP figures that don't make sense. Only very few casinos do exceed my expectations when it comes to live chat. I would vote for 32Red when it comes to that.
