referees blow calls against England Mexico

Recommended Posts

Referees blow 2 huge calls to help Germany and Argentina qualify.

England had a goal not count as the referees were the only people in the stadium to not see the ball clearly cross the line. That lead to England falling apart to Germany 4-1.

Mexico had a goal counted where Carlos Tevez was clearly offside.

Video technology would solve this problem but then referees wouldn't receive huge sums of money to blow calls on purpose because some criminal gang offered them money for the purposes of sportsbetting

I, four one, don't see that incident as having any impact on the result whatsoever.

I mean, if the score was 2-2 and Germany won on penalties or they finished 2-1, they were robbed! But the score was 4-1 so....

If they lacked the professionalism to compete as a result of a single bad refereeing decision.....they should all get 95% paycuts and none should be playing for their country. Because allowing a single bad decision to end their ability to compete in a sudden-death World Cup Finals match is obviously the very opposite of performing "professionally".

The way I see it, either they were disgraced on the field by a vastly more talented team on the day.

Or they were disgraced on the field by their own shockingly unprofessional inability to compete following a single bad decision.

I'm fairly certain I know which one is more....embarassing.

you're right. I think England and Capello should have taken the high road and said even if we scored to tie it up we didn't play well enough to win. Now they have an excuse of why they lost and not because of 0 goals from Rooney.
