Let's have some chit chat :)

Ok. So I've played Rabbit in the Hat and I liked when the fisrt Hat has appeared on the top of the slot.

What follows is a question for AFI. 25 years ago, after I just finished my physics masters, I was hired as a programmer for UBISOFT (many people know then as the best Europe software game makes). That time computers had 1 MB of memory and first 16 bits CPUs. I had written for them (during 6 moths) a game named Celtic Legends (that they sold quite succesfully in all the world). I learned then the basics or RNGs (random number generators).

Imagine you have a digital counter, counting modulo 64k, 100 times a second. This means that each second it makes 6.4M steps. You press a button on the keyboard and stop the counter. Of course you will have a random number generated (but with a periodicity of 64K). If you take 3 similar counters, you will have 3 variables that can combine in a function and thus have a better randomness. But the essnstial remains: your function will remain periodic.

So when you told about times when the slots pay and when they do not pay I remembered what I learned 25 years ago.

I was saying about Spinata Grande. It is the perfect example of periodicity. It has smaller periods of about 2 spins, medium periods of about 4-6 spins, and larger periods of about 13 spins. I will continue to try to be better than it.

Maybe all I am saying about this slot is bull *****, but who knows, one day I will be rich indeed.

Aaaah...we have a physics Masters here that we all don't know of! Hehehe. ^_^

Interesting to know that you actually did a game programming, and thus more knowledgeable about the RNG and the logics behind the randomness created. Still, no one can really comprehend absolutely the precise workings of the algorithms due to its complexity, hence a lot of trial and error runs are essential to get the required combinations and settings.

I'm just saying this for the benefit of our readers here who may not understand what we are talking about, but to explain physics and mathematics in layman's simplicity is truly difficult! Hehehe.

I believe that behind the running of the RNGs, a master controller is always necessary to ensure that the right results are given out from all the randomness created. Imagine if the payouts are truly 100% random...you may not get any win at all, no matter how small, even after thousands of spins! Similarly, you may get too many wins within a few spins apart. All because of randomness. This is never acceptable in creating gambling games. Casinos can go bankrupt in no time at all! Hahahaha.

So...like it or not...a little bit of PREDICTABILITY is imposed and included in the overall running of any game's program....thereby ensuring wins and losses at a predictable rate and time frame. And so the RTP is born...which is actually a part of the Master Controller I was talking about.

Talking in layman's simplicity...can gambling games be predictable? YES THEY CAN! But to a very little extent only! ^_^

You've been part of Ubisoft?! The company which made my most beloved Heroes Of Might and Magic?! :o:D

Not only I've been part of UBISOFT (yes indeed that famous UBISOFT) but the guys that own this company (all they are brothers, from France) meet once or twice in my apartment here in Bucharest. (I throw away their direct home phone number just about two years ago).

It was the beginning period of this company when they said that is better to hire Romanian programers and sell their games in France. They were paying us like 30-50 bucks/month, which was a good salary in 1991 in Romania (and I guess also in Bulgaria).

My game can be found even today on the web. Just do a google search for Celtic Legends, Amiga, or Celtic Legends, Atari.

Now all we have to do is to find a way to ''read' this PREDICTABILITY correctly and there we go, happy millionaires! :D

It was just an idea to keep my tablet handy next to my computer and input the wins for each spin. Than I could write a program to search into this wins for the periodicity and predictability. Which I think I will do this summer, when I will take 1-3 months of vacation from usual activities.

Which means we have in our forum a 90's star in among programmers and coders then. :)

Don't you think that the companies producing gambling software have already predicted that someone could try to 'decrypt' their algorithm?

Hahahaha...they certainly have taken every possibility into account! :D

Hence, sometimes...just sometimes...our predictions can be quite true...97% of the time...hopeless! Hahahaha. :D

Which is why in about all Casinos T&C is specified that the use of any helping software by the player is strictly forbidden and the player winnings are voided if the casino has such suspicions on player activity. But don't you think that is better to have some help, and play fool from time to time, than to loose more than you win?

Well, I have graduated a math school here in Bulgaria with an excellent mark, then IT in university... I guess that makes me a man who knows a bit about mathematics and how mathematical algorithms could be implemented into a software. Back in 2009-2010 I used almost 1,1 million spins I have recorded from my play sessions at Bet365 /mostly Fantastic Four and Electra/ and tried to build some model to predict when a good hit could and should be expected. There was even a moment when I almost done it...before losing a fortune and ended up with a single conclusion in my head - it is impossible to predict that! :D

However, what Guru failed to do does not necessarily mean that Afi, Valentin or anyone else with enough expertise and knowledge could not do it successfully. And to be honest, I would be soooo happy if any of you guys manage to do that, even hope to benefit from it. :D

From my own experience guru mate, trying to formulate a winning formula from those millions of spins just doesn't work

Too many variances are at play at once, making predictability very very difficult.

I tend to rely more on my instincts and visual experience on the game...through familiarity.

Although it is never accurate as well, it keeps the excitement of the game at its peak always!

Yeah...jumping up and down and punching the air whenever a prediction came true...hahaha.

Aaaaah...the thrill, excitement and fun of playing slots! :D

My dear Afi, what you said above is EXACTLY what I've done after the huge fiasco with my previously described attempt to predict a totally unpredictable video slot. :D Now I am feeling way happier relying on my bare instincts and forget completely my match education. ;)

I can try to help you, but only if you return your previous avatar. I don't like to see you in black, you are such a sunny person. :D

Kidding, I'll check what's going on asap.

Well, black can be nice and sexy...but half a face??? Oh geeeees... :p
