Blackjax
The season ending WTA finals start in Riyadh on November 2 and with a total prize pool of $15million we are going to see one player with a cheque of more than $1.5 million by winning the event. The tournament will see the world’s top 8 players play for the cup and the action will run until 9th November. The 8 players are divided into two groups of 4 each and during the group stage every player will play 3 matches. The first group is Purple and it has Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina and Zheng Qinwen. This is the toughest group as it has 3 of the world’s top 5 players. The second group is the Orange Group which has Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova. The format of the event is simple and 4 players in each player will play 3 matches each. The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals where the group leader from Purple will play the runner-up of Orange group and the group leader from Orange will play the runner-up of Purple group. The semifinal winners will play each other on 9th November for the WTA Finals Cup. The purple group has world number one Aryna Sabalenka and I believe she is going to top the group. The odds for her to top the group are 1.82 and it’s quite generous from bookies to let players make money on this bet. Orange group can be called the battle of even though the odds tell a different story. My pick for the player to top the Orange group would be Iga Swiatek and the odds for this are 2.05. The winner for this event is going to be Aryna Sabalenka and since she is last year’s winner too this was an obvious choice. If there is any player who can give her competition then that’s Iga Swiatek and if she manages to take the lead in the first set then she has a good chance of winning the event too. The odds for Iga to win the cup are 4.00.
