Which license is more reliable. Your opinion.

Honestly, if anyone asks me, the most reliable license where gambling is concerned (as Vladi had intended this topic to be about but didn't specify it), is NOT MGA or UKGC, but your own personal license to gamble!

If you gamble away as you like, without any responsibility, you cannot expect any Gambling Authority to really help you out when you run into trouble, simply because they cannot. It is your own fault for gambling away irresponsibly. If you become addicted, it's because you cannot control your gambling attitude. If you go broke, it's because you cannot control your spending desires. The Authorities can only put a stop and try to prevent you from sinking further, but you're already very deep into the quicksand. Some may even try to continue playing at any other casino that allows them, then they try to put the blame on the casinos and Authorities for not stopping them in doing so. This is like 'can any policeman stop anyone from drinking and driving'? NO!!! The best thing to do is don't drink if you're driving, simple as that.

Between UKGC and MGA, the way I see it, both can be helpful when assistance is needed from them, but they cannot solve all your problems that you yourself have created.

If you don't create any problems in your gambling activities, then the casino's license, UKGC, MGA, or even Curacao, is quite irrelevant. No problems caused, no issues to be resolved. My top favourite casinos, by the way, are casinos having Curacao licenses. Yes, they can be unreliable, but when there's no issues at hand, does that even matter at all? MGA and UKGC licensed casinos give me all kind of restrictions and headaches instead, so I don't like them at all!

It is NOT THE CAR that is reliable or not...it is THE DRIVER instead...the driving license!

I believe licenses give you a bit more security and protection from online casinos in case anything could go wrong.

However with that said a license does not make casinos reliable, maybe from a complaint/procedure perspective if a player has been wronged.

Also - We have many messed up UKGC, MGA online casinos that makes players miserable.

I always thought I trusted MGA the most - But DAMA, Direx N.V operate on Curacao and they some of the best casinos out there. - I am not a fan of Curacao, but Direx N.V and certain brands use it every well as I think they fall under the Master Antillephone NV 8048/JAZ license - Which is one of the best out of the 4 Master licenses and these casinos actually respond to player complaints as well regularly attend gambling related events.

I think maybe a a poll needs to be added to this topic, so people can vote?

Excellent idea actually so feel free to start and organize one, I'm all for it! ;)

Completely agree with u. BTW I would like to state my preference and its MGA. Also I would like to mention that I have never had a problem with a curacao license casino operated by Direx/Dama NV.

In all my years of gambling I have never run into problems that meant I had to contact the licensing agency. In fact, I don't think I've ever lodged a compaint. My other half has on here once due to verification issues but was resolved successfuly.

Most of the time if you abide by the rules you won't ever fall into issues. IMHO.

Completely agree with you! "It is NOT THE CAR that is reliable or not...it is THE DRIVER instead...the driving license!" - very capacious phrase!

For the jurisdiction in the Isle of Man, I read somewhere that you had a choice of three types of licence. Full licenses, sub-licenses and a Network Service license.

Can anyone tell me how they differ from each other?

Oh maaan, if you do some Googling you would get your answers! Too lazy hah? 😜

Anyway, here's some details:

The current annual cost for a five-year OGRA licence is:

  • £50,000 for a network services licence or token-based software supplier licence,
  • £35,000 for a standard licence;
  • £5,000 for a sub-licence.

The standard rate of corporate income tax in the Isle of Man is 0%. The current VAT rate is 20%.

If you want more info, let your fingers do some walking...GOOGLE it!

Researchers cannot wait for others to give the answers, they have to do research themselves to get the answers. 😜
