FranklynD
Hi A little while ago I signed up to Gamstop, not because I am was a big problem gambler but because I just wanted to take a break from it for a while. When I signed up I initially thought I had selected a 6 month period but having logged into my account recently I can see it now says 5 years. I have contacted Gamstop who have said if 5 years was selected (which I genuinely thought I did not do) then I was tied in for 5 years and would not be able to change this. While I can see the point what I wanted to know is, is that decision final and am I now not allowed to join a casino until that has expired? I know there are casinos that are not on Gamstop but A. I would not trust them and B. none of them have any of the games I used to like and play. Thanks in advance.
ValDes
Hey there @FranklynD, Afraid you don't have any options now. Please check Gamstop Terms referring to your situation: Quote When you register for self-exclusion, you will also need to decide the minimum time period you wish your self-exclusion to last for (your Minimum Exclusion Period). The options we offer are: 6 months; 1 year; or 5 years. Once you have provided us with the information listed above, you will need to answer a few additional questions in order for us to verify your identity, using a third party verification service. Our third party verification service provider is currently TransUnion, although we may choose to use a different third party verification service provider in the future. Information on how your personal data is used for verification purposes is set out in our Privacy Policy. When you have successfully completed the verification process, you will be given the chance to review the information you have provided, before you complete your registration. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR REGISTRATION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DEACTIVATE YOUR SELF-EXCLUSION UNTIL THE END OF YOUR MINIMUM EXCLUSION PERIOD. Once you have completed the steps above, we will activate your self-exclusion. Although we take care to activate self-exclusions as soon as possible, and generally do so within 24 hours, we cannot guarantee that your self-exclusion will take effect within this timeframe. The speed at which your self-exclusion takes effect on gambling operators' websites and apps will also be dependent on the effective operation of the gambling operators' systems, for which we are not responsible. Blackjax
I thought someone started a thread on Gamestop. But this was Gamstop. Lol.
pinnit2015
Yeah, you've got no chance of changing it. It's dodgy Curacao territory or nothing - i'd select nothing. If you do want to play again in 5 years and, given autospins are to be fully banned in the UK there may not be much incentive, you'll likely encounter trouble reactivating your old casino accounts anyhow; i know some operators, with people coming back from GS, simply refuse to re-open as a matter of policy.
