Hi Team, firstly Im pretty green when it comes to gambling and im even greener when it comes to paying for things online! i've had a few bad experiences with scam retail sites (unrelated to gambling) so am cautious about where and what details i enter, I recently joined my first online casino and have been throwing small deposits on and having a blast, i used my credit when i signed up but made a deposit with my wifes the other day... and I Won a fair amount! so i requested a withdrawal only to receive an email asking for various forms of ID understandably so, i sent what was asked of me bar my wifes.. ihad a look over the terms and conditions and now im freaking out as it states:

"4.7. You acknowledge that you shall only use debit or credit cards and other financial instruments that are valid and lawfully belong to you solely. The use of financial instruments whose ownership is shared with other individuals, is not tolerated and will result in voiding of winnings."

what do I do? am I screwed here or do i just try give them my wifes information? open to suggestions or advice if anyone can help please.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I don't come bearing good news. It is a breach of their terms and conditions to use someone elses card to fund your account. This could go one of two ways and we have both of these happen in the forum:

1. The casino will refuse your winnings as it is a breach of their terms. They may or may not offer to refund the deposit

2. The casino will allow the withdrawal if you can verify your wife too

We have see the result of both of these over the years, but I'd sway more to the first I'm afraid. Which casino is it?

Not a chance a decent casino, once they have requested the docs, will approve the withdrawal, unfortunately (still think the use of cards in others' names should be flagged at point of deposit like some, albeit small number of, sites do).

Don't meant to sound harsh but, if so cautious about what/who's details you enter, why enter details that weren't yours?🤔

There has been the odd case over the years that a casino will approve based upon the other person signing a declaration to say the use was approved by them, but they're pretty few and far between - suppose you can ask, just don't expect much.

i dont think he entered his wife's details. he used a deposit method that he shared with his wifey.

We’ve had all scenarios in the form over the years, he’s not guaranteed to get his deposit back either!

Typical example - BGO. A man used his sons PayPal. They refused withdrawal and refused to give deposit back as well.

The likelihood is OP will be declined the withdrawal but don’t give up without a fight because we’ve seen more than a few get their money too!

Hi there @cj2020 and welcome to AskGamblers Forum.

In addition to all that has been said above, there's a third option... IF the card used for the deposit is registered to your wife BUT is linked to joint bank account, then you are safe and have nothing to worry about giving the fact you managed to prove that.

Hi and Thankyou, everyone’s been so helpful. Brilliant place this is :) the casino in question is “Voodoodreams“.

I am well aware that it was not at all the smartest move on my behalf but I’m so used to sharing everything with my wife I didn’t even think twice about not using it. In fact we both have a copy of each other’s cards in our wallet/purse for emergencies (Different banks not a joint account) Or simply just because I pay the utilities on mine  she shouts takeaways or Wants me to get her something on her card while I’m out. I mean no one ever asks you to prove that your eftpos debit card is yours while your getting groceries Or grabbing a bottle of  wine. Different story with a credit card but that’s borrowed money so different kettle of fish.

BTW i am assuming by details you mean HER NAME. HER AGE. HER ADDRESS. HER DATE OF BIRTH. If yes then whats the problem. you will definitely  get your money which is now her money to be precise,. send her id proof a driving license or passport. The deposit proof which is her credit card and no problem. you basically were the one who just played with the money so no problem. But better be careful next time.
