pinnit2015
Momentum building to bayonet the UK Gambling industry - SMF is only a think tank but the politicians will be all over this Interesting point re White Labels - banned. I couldn't care less with this one. Prove you can afford anything over a 100 quid loss. Sheesh Online stake caps - reckon they'll run with 5: won't affect me personally as only run at that and higher when i have a balance but for the true high rollers, it'll be game over The only half decent thing is the creation of an Ombudsman - something, re self exclusions, that really comes out. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/aug/04/online-gamblers-should-prove-they-can-afford-losses-report-finds Fiekie247
ValDes
Honestly shocking read! If half of what's been proposed goes live I think that would be the end of 50 to 75% of the UK operators... Fiekie247
pinnit2015
Have a register for Self Exclusions A register for casino losses. A register for those who have submitted bank statements for review. Going to be left with the UK Bookies at this rate - funnily enough that's where i started - Coral - and looking like it's coming full circle. Keep an eye on MGA - u might find replication down the line. Why? So many factors - Be in in the form of some individuals who obviously have it in the the gambling industry - journalists included. Industry itself - hasn't been the cleanest of places in the past; could they have done more? Probably General society - from claiming u were sold unaffordable payday loans, it's just where we are as a human species: abdication of any personal responsibility; it's always someone else's fault. Spunk 100k into a casino? Not my fault Sir, i should have been stopped - these constant, in many cases poor me, poor me, have helped give backing to certain groups' agendas. So, well done u folk - mission possible. ValDes
ValDes
Couldn't agree more with Mr P's post! Spot on! The only thing that is worth to say maybe is how shockingly 'numb' and 'disunited' all big gambling players on the UK market looked (and still looking btw) from the very beginning of all these massive changes initiated by the UKGC... Seems like most of them are totally okay kissing their Casino product a goodbye and stick to their Sports sections mostly?

Do the same thing to European gamblers and you'd probably get something like what happened in Sweden...everybody starts fighting back for a better deal! It's a decent point - the British have a weird type reservedness when it comes to coming forward: get work done on house and it's not quite right, a lot of folk will simply pay up and complain later etc. We love queue's over here! Whereas I've been to some countries where folk dimply don't, pardon the pun, stand for them. ValDes and Afi4wins

What's the stat's for Sports betting revenues v Slots? i think it's close to 70 plus comes from sports betting. Still puts slots probably in the 20 % mark (maybe a few other things making up the 10 like Virtual etc) William Hill/Coral (GVC)/lLadbrokes are all big players here but I've not heard anything about them getting together challenging this - this isn't tweaking 100 autospins; it's a fundamental threat to the whole slot industry and you're right, it's almost like a shrug of the shoulders as if either they're not fussed or maybe they realise nothing can be done. The UKGC is jostling to stay relevant/in existence which makes them even more dangerous when it comes to things like this. ValDes
ValDes
Cannot recall exact numbers stated in the UKGC latest stats report but the Sports vs. Casino was somewhere in the region of 75-80 % vs. 18-20% tops.
