Issues with an Approved Withdrawal and Documents

So I have had an issue. I have an approved withdrawal on its way. It was approved on Friday and 24hrs later I was required to send verification, of which I did. All my documents are accepted except my passport as its past its expiry although I explained I was in the middle of changing over my documents, so my account is on hold.  I asked if my withdrawal would be interrupted due to my account being frozen as my winnings are what I'm funding my new ID with. I was told the payment department should not stop my payout as it was already approved before the request for documents.  Has anyone ever had issues with an already approved withdrawal being stopped ?? And if not is it possible for a casino to do this?? Or am I being paranoid??

I am still wondering why approving a withdrawal and then requesting for documents? How far apart did this happened?

As Average Guy stated - time will tell.
