Stockbet86
Hi folks. This is becoming an obvious issue for players who have self excluded at some point who return years later. Firstly, several online casinos are very good at slamming shut or preventing you from opening accounts. Great, well done! My problem lies with this grey area where winnings are removed if you win anything or refusing to return deposits. I've had paddy power remove my winnings (entire balance) and cancel my deposits and i've had slotboss refuse to return my deposits because i was only taking a break with its sister website. I've just had virgin close my account but taken my deposit. I'm not crying into my beans, but amounts have varied and cannot help but think they are just making it up as they go along. We all accept the casino is stacked agasint us but this needs addressing. I'm furious with the paddy power situation, as the uk gambling commission refuses to show me where it says a bookmaker can accept a bet, pay and take it back because of any reason other than a crime being committed. Any similar stories?

Any similar stories? Hi Stockbet I'm afraid we've had dozens of stories similar to yours over the years. I'm not someone who has personally been affected by this but some of our regular members have so I'm guessing they'll be along shortly to hopefully offer some advice. Raptordinos
I've read similar stories but involving mainly EveryMatrix casinos, never read problems of this kind mentioning Paddy Power (one of my favorite casinos BTW) I have never had to deal with this specific situation because I have never used self exclusion function in any casino so far. Same here Raptor, I've never used self exclusion either so don't know a great deal about how it all works once you do use it. Yep coco, nothing better than having doors open in your favorite casinos, of course, if you have no gambling problem, that's other case, hard to discuss for my part indeed
Fiekie247
I just stay away from Casinos but never even ask to close account, because most of the online casinos perceive account closures as self-exclusion, which will only bite you in the ash when you have a lot of money in one of their sister sites lol

Any similar stories? First of all, hello and welcome to AskGamblers. With regards of your issue, I would strongly recommend visiting UKGC website and making sure you are fully in aware of their provisions when it comes to self-exclusion matters before throwing such serious accusations. http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/for-the-public/Safer-gambling/Self-exclusion.aspx
Stockbet86
What's my accusation exactly? I have two online casinos acting the opposite. It's a fact. I'm not happy with the ukgc direction of "reasonable measures" - spell it out. I think if you deposit and lose/win you're liable. I don't expect a refund. In this case, i lost far more to those that took the deposits than paddy power, who voided all deposits and winnings.
catapultaudio
Paddy Power have always been very fair with me and my girlfriend in particular loves them and does a huge percentage of her gambling with them .. They aren't the kind of place that would do something like refusing to hand back your deposit without good reason, so why have they told you they have done this? The UKGC also are a very player-friendly body, there must be some accusation of foul play involved here surely? I apologise if this sounds harsh or unfair, but PP aren't just a typical online casino, its a huge company with hundreds of retail outlets and thousands of employees, they just don't need to rip off their players - they are making untold profits already. cocopop3011

catapultaudio
No update on this one ? I ask because i had a little poker freeroll win at the weekend with PP, account locked five minutes after withdrawal... Apparently a security issue on my account. sent requested docs including photo of passport next to my face (!!! I always find that extreme !) And received email confirming all ok and money sent within 5 hours. I have no idea what caused the issue but the way it was handled was first class, if you are playing by the rules you should have no problems with PP. cocopop3011

It's not a casino I play at very often I have to admit but it's certainly one I have 100% trust in!

Fiekie247
How do you guys feel about using Bitcoin to play with? Much easier to load and much easier to withdraw. Thoughts? https://www.askgamblers.com/forum/topic/7352-using-bitcoin/ Personally - I love bitcoin and have invested a lot in it. But for gambling purposes its a no no. USD and any currency I load easy and withdraw instantly, as in if my withdrawal is processed in 10 minutes from a casino to my e wallet, i withdraw the money from my e wallet 1 minute later, and look at it. How is that easy for withdraw?
