So i decided to start a topic about all Greek gamblers cause of the law restrictions we have for the past year. In most casinos we dont get any kind of bonus and in a good majority we cant even register. The past month even more casinos (some of my favorites as casumo and thrills) stopped accepting greek players.

I hope that this will change in 2017. there are like 10-12 casinos that operate in Greek language and fully licenced in Greece but the strange thing is that they dont have any promotions not even the ones that their international versions have. For example netbet casino that has quite good promos for the international version, in Greek version there is not even a promos page!

I closed my account there although they have a good platform and many providers. Of course after almost 9 months they still keep updating their promo page

 

There are many more casinos that Greek players can play and take bonuses. The most difficult for a Greek player to play to an international casino is the deposit. We cant deposit with bank cards or paysafe cards due to the capital controls. We can use neteller or skrill but on the other hand we cant fund these e wallets  .

One solution I have found is buying paysafe cards from a foreign site.

It s the easiest way... you can top up viva wallet via credit card from greek banks or vouchers from viva spots and let the games begin! as for withdrawals try leupay! all casinos accept leupay's IBAN and you take money from any atm except "ethikh"

Yes the new laws claim that no casino should treat us with gifts because its easier to get excited and gamble money! the new law is all about money! some casinos like vistabet sportingbet and novibet bought greek permisiions so they can operate as they like!

Well about 4 years ago there was a new law  in Greece trying to regulate the gambling market. They gave only a dozen of temporary licenses to casino operators so they can operate legally in my country and restricted us from playing to other casinos. They created a black list of casinos which they blocked their IPs so we cant play there.

 

Of course the list is too short and is not updated frequently, so there are many casinos that we can play at our own risk since there is supposed to be a fine, if we play at a casino that does not have a greek permission. Luckily I have not heard of anyone paying such a fine, but on the other hand many casinos that i used to play like Mr Green and Redbet are unreachable for me .

 

Many casinos have stopped accepting Greek players also, after these changes happened. If you add to this, the capital controls that we have in our country and that we cannot deposit to foreign casinos using our bank accounts or cards, there are many obstacles to overcome.

 

Unfortunately I do not see that the Greek goverment will give other licenses to more casinos to operate legally here in the near future, this kind of monopoly will continue.

 

Finally the last 6 months they also restricted the server of the Microgaming slots   so I cant play slots from this provider, except on a few casinos that seem to have different server which provides MG slots.

LOL, this sounds awfully familiar. William Hill used to send me a text every Wednesday and Saturday telling me they had credited me some money to go and use on the machines in their shops, and I used to make a few quid out of it many weeks. Then our government brought in a ban on bookmakers offering incentives such as loyalty points to go in and play the machines, so that lovely little perk - and effective cashback on my losses - was stopped. 

 

Some of the shops have got around it using loopholes, which I'm guessing is also the same as what you are experiencing with a few casinos still being willing to offer you bonuses. The real point though is that the governments are so clueless they don't realise that in their effort to "protect" players, they are actually making them poorer.

I ve left this topic for a long time. its time for a few updates. As all Greek players know the ministry "BLACKLIST" got even bigger incuding some of my favorite casinos. For non greek citizen to explain that in greece we have a financial ministry blacklist that doesnt even allow you to visit a casino webpage even if that casino allows you to play there. that list keeps on growing. more can be found here https://www.gamingcommission.gov.gr/Forbidden-Black-List.htm .
