Roulette on a slot machine

Hello fellow gamblers,

I should start with the fact that I am really new to everything related to the word casino and betting in general. If I am talking bull... (yeah you know the word) please excuse me. Recently, I am really passionate trying my luck on the roulette. For my bad luck, I discovered that in my hometown there isn't a live roulette and my only option to play roulette is through the slot machines.

I am assuming that if there is a live dealer who spins and drops the ball into the roulette the chance of getting a random number must be 100%. If I am wrong please correct me. However, before a while, I read that the slot machines are using mathematical algorithms to determine who loses and who wins. What I understood from that article is the fact the machines have two moods - sad and happy. If the machine is in their "sad" mood your chances to win something are minimal and vise-verse. If what I understood is correct then is the roulette on the slot machines (in general not only in my city) following the same principle or the numbers which are picked are fully randomise?

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Petar

I'm actually really confused Petar. What confuses me is your expression 'Roulette on slot machines' - I don't know what you mean by this phrase. There's Roulette (Standard or Live) and there's Slots, two completely different games?

Could you elaborate on this expression please.

Maybe some other members get it, if they do hopefully they'll reply for you.

I am talking about an electronic roulette with a virtual wheel instead of a real one. Where only a single player version is supported (if a person sits next to you and start to play the roulette too then he will have his own spinning wheel) and if you navigate to the main menu of the machine you are playing on you will be offered a list of different games. For example - slots, blackjack, roulette and etc.

PS: I am sorry and I really hope that this time, I expressed myself better.

Best regards,

Petar

The real trouble with the electronic roulette games is probably just the speed you can bet at - three spins a minute is a whole lot of chances for you to go broke and the house edge inevitably eats away at your balance much faster - around 3.5 times quicker I would say based on an average casino wheel dropping just 50 numbers an hour. Your odds for each individual spin are just the same though as long as its a fair game! If the edge is listed at more than 2.7% stay well away as its a mathematically unfair table.

Hello there Peter and welcome to AskGamblers.

Unfortunately, we are no longer offering free table games /including but not limited to various version of electronic roulette/ to our members and focused on video slots only instead. Perhaps you could browse our Slots Section and take a look, who know, you might like it. :)

Otherwise, we have some quite an experienced table games players around and sincerely hope one or more of them will soon jump in with precious advice. ;)

Hi Peter! From what I understand your expectation of current and modern "electronic roulette" doesn't fit to your desire right? Anyway, have you try to consider slots instead of roulette? The sad news is that it's true that they have their own algorithm but there's what we called RTP of slots. You can read more about here and in this case it's a 97% RTP. ;)

I was in the bookies yesterday playing a little blackjack and took a look at the odds for their slot-style roulette machine, and it's given as 97.3% RTP which would mean it's a mathematically fair game, but here's the strange part - the "key bet" roulette game they have gives it's odds as 94.2%, it's a single zero wheel but has an extra "key bet" slot which can award a random payout up to 100x your stake. I have no idea how this calculates and I would probably stay away from such variations unless theres a decent explanation, as I wouldn't want to play any roulette game if the results are not completely random.
