Hot & Cold game lists – useful or just hype? 🔥❄️

Anyone else noticed those Hot & Cold sections on gaming homepages?

Would be interesting to see how games like Crazy 777 are featured in these lists. One suggestion though — platforms should explain whether “hot” means popular, recently played or something else entirely.

What do you reckon? Are these lists actually useful, or would a proper trending games section be better?

From my understanding of the 2 words, 'hot' means the game is being played by so many players simultaneously, whilst 'cold' means very little activity going on.

Alternatively, it could also mean paying quite well regularly, or the game is literally in a dead mode.

In the lobby, the Hot/Cold category in most cases refer to the games' performance over the last 24h.

I rarely play a 'hot' game, thinking I'll probably be late to the party, while I tend to avoid the 'cold' games

but check this out how these two games side by side were given the hot and cold rating back on October 1.

also when Ultras34 got the big win on Eastern Fury that game was given the Hot rating. but today it has no rating.

anyway today we have these in the hot and cold. but how is it that Ice Mints 20.11% cold on October 1... is still today the same 20.11% yet it's now October 13....

Might be that nobody has played ice mints during 1-13 october on that site. Not sure how the hot & Cold % is decided but might be like last 1000 spins or so?

I believe hot and cold is decided by the games RTP over a day or week.

Came across a casino and looks like hot and cold stand for rtp.  Probably the last 24 hours.
