Franny311
Can you opt out of facial recognition software and unauthorized data collection. Recently, I discovered that an online casino I use has been using facial recognition technology through an app without my explicit consent. I was unaware that the app had access to my camera and microphone, which were turned on without my knowledge or approval. In addition, my private data was leaked online by third-party companies, further exacerbating my concerns. I do not feel comfortable with the use of facial recognition software, and I am concerned that many consumers are unaware that these features may be activated by default on their devices or apps. Today I went to cash out and it said it is on hold and they locked my account. I would appreciate your input on whether I have the right to opt out if I have been identified by them many times before the biometrics came into effect. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. MilaRoy
MilaRoy
Hello! Here’s what I suggest. On one hand, ask them to provide confirmation that your data won’t be used in this way moving forward. On the other hand, if you feel the casino has mishandled your data or breached your privacy, consider reporting the incident to regulatory bodies or consumer protection organizations. I hope is helps you!
