Why I Don't Like Vouchers

At certain times of any year, some online casinos tend to organise competitions at their websites, but instead of offering cash or bonus prizes, they offer online vouchers instead. I'm totally not interested in such competition prizes, so I would simply watch, read and skip. Simple as that, hehehe.

Whaaaat? Whyyyy? The competitions are quite good really, you might say, but only those who don't see the overall big picture would say that!

Let me say out 3 excellent reasons why voucher prizes are actually quite USELESS to gamblers, but a great boon to online casinos and shopping websites.

#1  Vouchers are usually in a fixed monetary value per voucher. They cannot be exchanged for real cash but can only be used to buy goods from their shopping websites. So once you start collecting their vouchers, you can expect a long period of 'collecting more necessary vouchers' before you can actually buy that something that you really want. Otherwise, you'd have to use those vouchers to buy UNNECESSARY things that you don't want, just to avoid that 'long collection period'.

#2  Vouchers usually have expiry dates on them, so if not used within its validity period, they become void and COMPLETELY USELESS! This has happened to me once before, some years back, when I was staying in another part of my country. I had over RM100 in vouchers from a local shopping mart, which I haven't used yet, simply because I didn't know what to buy with them at that moment in time. Then came the time when I had to move to another part of the country, but that shopping mart was not available there, so those vouchers finally expired and I had wasted a good RM100 all for nothing! Yeah, yeah, I know, this is not the case with online shopping as per se, but those vouchers may still expire in time!

#3  Vouchers may be from different companies, are not exchangeable and cannot be used anywhere else. That says everything! If its Amazon Vouchers, you can only buy things from Amazon websites. What? Your desired item can only be bought at eBay? So go get eBay Vouchers then, or look for competitions from casinos that offer eBay Voucher prizes! None that I know of, hahaha. 

There are more reasons why not to use any kind of vouchers, but I'll let you do the thinking for yourself.

Well, today, anything that is being hosted and you can win something that are free, I'd take it, if it really does not cost that much to win something or participate, unlike a real casino tournament, weekly or monthly 20k prize pools. With many high rollers out there, its hard to compete, for us with the low end of the budget.

I would honestly, as first prize try and sell my voucher on certain websites, for people who are interested in these stuff, I mean I know we have a local website, where Virtual currency, and Vouchers have a topic of its own and you can sell it or exchange it etc.

The nice things with these comps on AG, is that they are exclusive at times or within the forum, giving us better winning chances and that is how I see.

I do understand your point AFI and I know you very stuck in your ways and what you believe in, I mean lets talk about the fact that you will not play in a casino that does not have Skrill for deposits or withdrawals and we respect that.

All I am saying it @cocopop3011is trying to accommodate everyone and its hard to keep everyone happy ( At times she does though) and make the forum alive by doing something different each time, to give back to its loyal forum members and others, but she is also limited with a budget or whatever the company is allowing her to do or what choosing what prizes are out of her control.

Right now I feel we getting something back from AG, lets say the last 2 years at least every month almost, but think how it used to be prior to COVID, we only used to have a contest or comp, once every 6 months.

 

Do I like winning vouchers - Not really as its not my first choice...

but will I say NO if I win a 250 euro voucher whether its Amazon or E-Bay-  I'd definitely take it.
