Sounds to me like a similar scenario at work to be honest.
HR is there for the show and you give you some hope that someone is protecting you, meanwhile they stand with the firm/company itself.
I remember I was in a disciplinary hearing for ''MoonLighting". Now you know in the beginning they want all information so they can ''HELP'' you, while in the meanwhile they stab you in the back and use information against you.
Point I am making - In General:  No matter what situation, industry or the position is - Know that companies/clients will 99% of the time side with their Clients/Business Partners/Employers/Bosses in any event whenever you fight them. This is a FACT in my experience....

Anyways  , Back to the topic - Reading the above it sounds to me the Gambling Commision are doing the same. Giving the camouflage or idea that the player knows they are in safe hands with someone on their side fighting for them, meanwhile as Honest Dude said, its just for the Show, but you only realize that they do not perform at the level for what they stand for, when you are involved in an ongoing dispute and its already too late.
I always use this  saying- They (The regulators/gambling commission) try to put wooden glasses on our faces! Oh well some of us see through those Wooden glasses ?

Well, Tony and all the rest who have helped Tony and his son with this issue of RG compliance, I have read the whole 5 pages of comments and what you have been through, Was a very interesting but unfortunately a disappointing outcome on the part of both the casino and the GC. To sum it all up, there really isn't any agency protecting individual gamblers out there and with the GC being supposedly one of the best regulators in the world, even they do not follow their mandate even as it is reads in their governance.
I'm just glad your son is taking the right path and given what I read and the path he's chosen, it's a positive outcome nonetheless. having a graduates degree in psychology I understand addiction and although you mentioned you were also angry at your son's behaviour you stood behind  and helped.  That alone is what any addictive personality needs. Support.  Of  course it is undoubtedly frustrating and anger does unfortunately set in but as you know, addiction is a very difficult behaviour to  overcome and  unfortunately most of the time not easy on the individual and anyone in the family involved.  Having said that, it is more disappointing that governing bodies, who the public count on in these cases are more an entity for show rather than what they stand for.
Thanks for the great read and hope many have had the opportunity to learn from this experience.
    Sincerely

I agree with your comment but I do find that although there are stricter regulations casinos are also "mostly" benefiting using these regulations to delay or sometimes reject withdrawals.
I've had the same issue with one casino whereby they kept rejecting documents as they wanted screenshots and not PDF files and I could not email them either as they wanted all documents uploaded  on their system. There were constant demands of new documents and some people as I read don't have mailed bank statements, expiry dates etc.  I had to send them a pic of myself, (yes, I did it), holding my driver's license, (only because I wanted to retrieve my funds). I would have never done this had I known to begin with. I was a long time member and they never did ask until suddenly one day I tried to withdraw again  and they demanded or I lose my funds. This was with Bob Casino. I have no problem mentioning who either. I ended up just playing all my funds away anyhow cause it was getting way too complicated.
In summary I find there are only 2 solutions one of which you mentioned.
    1) Have or force all casinos to demand verification before deposit time and not afterwards allowing each player to decide if they want to give out sensitive  information.
    2) All casinos within the regulatory country should create a government   department, (or something of this type), whereby only they receive these documents that are asked of us so there could be some control preventing fraud or identity theft. (which I was a victim of).
In other words, players follow the same regulations on a "standard" document check needed submitting to a "safe entity" whereby that entity would then acknowledge to the  casinos, within that jurisdiction, that the subject player is legit according to documents received. This would keep documents confidential and not circulated to all casinos.
Basically a "middleman".  This would prevent large amounts of fraud and identity theft which costs governments tons of cash and would also regulate the control of rogue casinos, privacy laws and standardizes the process in many countries.
    Just my thoughts.

I guess that's an issue with askgamblers for your picture xD.
Anyway, i agree with your comment too and something like that should be definitely done in near future.
For sure first "Force all casinos to demand verification before deposit"
Because 13y kid can register on casino even now and deposit the money lol via SKRILL that doesn't even require some verification process for amount of money like 50$.

Want to hear my own experience on that Cazino Cosmos game my dear?
500 spins played...not even one single feature activated...not even adding any one of those collective symbols at the top...just lots of empty spins, plus a few blardy low payouts, followed by more empty spins! The blardy game ate all my money (including bonus money) without even giving anything decent back...it was down the drain hole all the way! I've labelled Cazino Cosmos as a stupid game to play...just as for many other Yggdrasil games anyway!

    Hi Fiekie247 and everyone else,
We are a casino, there is no skill playing our games. We wouldn't close an account in the casino because you have won. However, I can't give further feedback on why your account was closed more than the information you have already received. You are welcome to send in your complaint to MGA. We apologise that we couldn't be of more help.

    Best regards,

Also find it interesting how Netent celebrated entering the Canadian market a s per last year's post by Netent but I believe this only applied to the province of BC since I was not able to play NeTEnt software on any casinos I played in. Appended is their article.
    Expansion to Canada - NetEnt
And if that wasn’t enough the providers have also launched on the regulated market in Canada too providing even more player growth. A range of NetEnt’s most popular games are now live with British Columbia Lottery Cooperation (BCLC) through an agreement that was made with IGT.This now marks the first entry for NetEnt on the regulated market in Canada. The integration is now complete, and their world-leading games are available at BCLC through the IGT Connect integration layer IGT is providing to the lottery.
Therese Hillman who is the Group CEO over at NetEnt commented “Launching our games to players in British Columbia is an important milestone for us in our expansion in North America. Entering regulated markets is a vital part of our strategy going forward, especially within the WLA segment. I am sure that our exciting games will be much appreciated by BCLC’s players.”

Just wanted to start a blog for our Canadian Gamblers to be aware of regulations, availability, forbidden software, updates on payment options etc etc. I'll start with Canadian regulation and what, if anything the Canadian Government regulations are doing with regards to this $17 billion fastest growing entertainment industry.
A few software restrictions to date that I am aware of so far: Feel free to add to this
Netent, BTG, NYX, ELK (thanks to The Average Guy), who posted.
As far as regulations and some were asking why the Canadian Government are seriously looking into regulating on-line casinos I found this article :
Gambling in all its form is a major contributor to the Canadian economy. Despite this, gambling does not receive a lot of government attention.
Here, are some of the key facts:
CAD$9 billion dollars each year from gambling funds government and community projects Supplies over 135,000 jobs Online gambling is one of the fastest growing sectors The largest segment of Canada's entertainment industry More than over 100 land-based casinos operate in Canada Over 60% of Canadian adults have gambled in the past 3 years As Quebec launches a fresh appeal, it is important that Prime Minister Trudeau makes a stand. There is nothing in Canadian law that opposes online casinos offshore or otherwise. Failing to act in this case, means supporting a Loto-Quebec monopoly. If Canadians wish to gamble online, they should be free to do and the government should create clearer laws. Failure to provide for a modern 21st century Canada shows a lack of forward-thinking. Something Justin Trudeau should think about.

Mr Green are quite good - if you're looking for a casino to chuck you deposit offers and decent FS offers, they're probably not for you as their promo's are pretty woeful. But I've never had any issues and their w/d are the fastest I've played at.
Yeah, i get the feeling VS are taking a bit of a dip atm - their new 'Wheel', cutting back on rewards, the games they chose for the SNG's, increasing the wagering, all point to a casino 'shoring up' - likely a victim of their exemplary high standards in the past - either way, it's becoming noticeable.

For UK folks (Apart from Trada above)
Mr Green - Instantaneous - like, instant.
Videoslots - usually 15 minutes, but lately mine have been 6 hours. Ohhh, call the police.
    Volt Casino - a relative newbie : 2 hours
    Novibet - usually 6-10 hours
Trada - as above - have really improved their times
Betat/Slotty: sometimes as quick as 15 minutes, usually 1-2 hours i find
Casumo - take your pick: last two were 15 minutes but allow up to 23hrs 59mins and 59seconds.
Sky Vegas - like Mr G: they flush it so it's basically instant: no reversals as well
Slotmillion: I'd say 24 hours on average but can be within the first hour of the working day if you withdrawal late at night.
Above is just indicative, on average. The only one I;d say that goes over the 24 hr mark is Slotmillion but SV and Mr G are up there with the fastest around
Oh, Will Hill: 23:00 the following day. But given their offers it's a small price to pay.
Rizk: 15 minutes; in fact the MT sites are relatively fast: High Roller etc.
